Switches, also known as buttons, are useful obstacles that may deactivate, clear, or change the functions of certain mechanisms when pressed down. Conveyor belts and switch gates both are controlled by switches.

Buttons are obstacles in Pikmin 2... Again?. They work exactly like in Pikmin 4, but have a variant, a green button with a white number display and only temporarily activates or deactivates mechanisms, the number display acting as a timer in seconds. Buttons can also be used to clear metal gates.
