The Giant Toasty Breadbug is a breadbug appearing in Pikmin: Attack of the Breadbugs as the boss of the Inferno Territory. It only appears after defeating the three Fiery Breadbugs surrounding its den, which is composed of ash and volcanic rock and is positioned in front of the Inferno Territory's exit. Upon doing so, the creature carefully pokes its snout out from its den, blows some smoke and embers out of its nostrils, pulls its snout back inside, and then jumps out from its den to roar at the sky while exhaling flames. As it walks about, the Giant Toasty Breadbug can kill Pikmin and harm Olimar just by stepping on them, and ignite any Pikmin except Red Pikmin upon contact. The Giant Toasty Breadbug follows Olimar and his Pikmin throughout the Inferno Territory so long as it is still alive.
Because it ignores objects, the Giant Toasty Breadbug must be killed by assaulting it with Pikmin or Olimar's punches. This is possible due to the creature's oddly vulnerable hide, which Pikmin can latch onto and strike. As the Giant Toasty Breadbug is hurt, it produces whimpering and growling sounds. Upon reaching half-health, the creature begins to breathe flames that reach well beyond its mouth. Upon defeat, the Giant Toasty Breadbug drops to the ground, dead. Its body rapidly cools, forming a reflective black coating, allowing any Pikmin to safely carry its body to their Onion.

The Giant Toasted Breadbug is a breadbug appearing in Pikmin: Elemental Speciation. It is the larger counterpart of the Toasted Breadbug and has higher speed and more vitality than it. Resembling a loaf of charred bread, it is perpetually engulfed in flames, much like a Fiery Bulblax, and any Pikmin beyond Red Pikmin that touch it will be ignited. Objects it gets a hold of are also ignited so long as it remains in contact. They behave similarly to the basic Giant Breadbug, attempting to drag treasures and carcasses back to their nests, which are commonly surrounded by fire geysers. Unlike its smaller kin, its fire is not extinguished after being hurt by having the object it is carrying sucked into the ship or an Onion.

- “A much larger subspecies of the toasted breadbug, this breadbug seems at first to be simply a larger specimen, but it is indeed a separate subspecies. It can be distinguished by its unique shape, and its unique black striped pattern reminiscent of char marks. It has been noted to have an approximately 300% increase in healthy specimens compared to Giant Breadbugs, who often suffer from diseases due to bad hygiene.”

The Giant Toasty Breadbug is a boss appearing in Magma Mine, cave in Flaming Fields. Its spiked feet and flaming, charred, smoking body make it extremely dangerous. Not to mention, it leaves behind an ember trail so hot that not even Red Pikmin can withstand it. Fortunately, Maroon Pikmin can handle the extreme heat and the lava the beast spits.
