The Green Tree Wollyhop is a large amphituber, and also the only amphituber, appearing in Pikmin: Attack of the Breadbugs. It is only found in a cave in the Marsh Territory of the Land of Wonders. When Captain Olimar and his Pikmin enter its lair, the Green Tree Wollyhop announces its arrival with a loud croak and falls through a large hole in the roof of the cave to confront them. A rusty metal grate positioned above the cave's only exit slams shut from the vibrations, leaving Olimar and his squad trapped there until the creature is defeated.

The creature is about the size of a Raging Long Legs's main body and is more frog-shaped than most other wollyhops. It strongly resembles a real-world red-eyed tree frog in appearance, having bulging red eyes with vertical, black, reptilian pupils, green skin with a pale, cream-colored underside, and red-orange toes. Its limbs are also green but with blue undersides. Overall, the Green Tree Wollyhop has a colorful appearance that dominates its surrounding environment.

At a distance, the Green Tree Wollyhop will lash its long tongue out to eat Pikmin in front of it. Every Pikmin it eats will restore a small portion of its health. This attack becomes increasingly more accurate as the creature's health dwindles. The Green Tree Wollyhop may also choose to crush Pikmin instead of eating them, where it will leap into the air and try to land on top of them, without floating as most other adult amphitubers do. This can attack can be dodged by watching for the amphituber to prepare itself for a jump and moving away before it leaps. Pikmin that are beside, but not under, the Green Tree Wollyhop once it lands will be thrown back and possibly have their maturities reduced to the leaf stage. Once the Green Tree Wollyhop reaches half-health, it will change its jumping attack; instead of jumping once, it will jump three times in rapid succession. Outmaneuver the creature and continue to throw any Pikmin type onto it to defeat it. When the Green Tree Wollyhop is defeated, it will struggle towards the blocked-off exit of the cave and, realizing it is trapped there, use its last remaining bit of energy to spring into the grate to free itself, ultimately resulting in its demise but also allowing Olimar and his Pikmin to leave.
