Cinnamon Breadbugs appear in Pikmin: Attack of the Breadbugs, and have a one in two hundred chance to spawn instead of a normal Breadbug in any territory at any time. They act like can be attacked as any ordinary Breadbug can, but they have twice the health and have the ability to heal over time. Once defeated, a Cinnamon Breadbug will drop a 20-pellet. Cinnamon Breadbugs also have a small chance of dropping one or two blobs of nectar upon defeat. When attacked, Cinnamon Breadbugs release a pink cloud of cinnamon that pacifies and attracts any Pikmin within a certain range of it.

In Pikmin: The Pollution, the Cinnamon Breadbug behaves like a normal Breadbug, but has twice the amount of health, three times the defense, and heals over time. Defeating one will cause it to yield a 100-pellet of a random color, and because of this Cinnamon Breadbugs are the only enemy to drop such a reward.

The Cinnamon Breadbug is a rare breadbug appearing in Pikmin: Redemption. When a standard Breadbug brings a carcass or other object into its nest, there is a one in one hundred twenty-eight chance that it will emerge as a Cinnamon Breadbug instead. Cinnamon Breadbugs are identified by their pink skin and red blubber, and the aura they give off wherever they go. If not defeated before it returns to its hole, it will return to normal unless the fortune decides it should stay a Cinnamon Breadbug for a bit longer. Killing a Cinnamon Breadbug will cause it to drop a wealth of pellets and sprays, making it very valuable despite not it giving many Pikmin seeds, or Pokos. One Breadbug in particular, near Flooded Abyss's landing site, has a whopping one-in-five chance of initially emerging as or becoming a Cinnamon Breadbug. However, it does not drop the typical Cinnamon Breadbug spoils when killed, as it instead yields the Diamond Knuckle. After this, killing that particular Cinnamon Breadbug again will cause it to yield the normal drops.

The Cinnamon Breadbug is an extremely rare enemy in Pikmin: Shipwrecked Stargazers. It resembles a typical Breadbug but with a reddish tint and green eyes. Only one Cinnamon Breadbug can ever be found, in a small area within Misty Badlands. Its burrow is located in this area, but the creature itself seemingly never comes out. In order to draw this valuable specimen out, a collectible object, such as a pellet or enemy corpse, but excluding treasure, must be brought into its area. The leaders must then stand far away from the burrow as the Cinnamon Breadbug emerges and takes the object for its bounty. Attempting to bring this to base to deal heavy damage does not work, as the Cinnamon Breadbug will let go of the object and casually waddle back to its burrow. The enemy must be dealt with in a more active way, throwing Pikmin at it, preferably Purple Pikmin, to deal damage. Whenever it is hit, however, the Cinnamon Breadbug will panic and scamper around the area, like a Breadbug in Pikmin 4, before taking refuge in its burrow. Another corpse or pellet can be used to lure it back out. When killed, it drops five ultra-spicy spray nectars around itself in a star-shaped formation, and its corpse can be brought to the Onion for a hundred seeds.
Notes
Olimar's notes
- “Wheras most Breadbugs are active and blithering scavengers, the Cinnamon Breadbug is a much more skittish creature. It naturally emanates a scent not unlike cinnamon that it uses to communicate with its kin. This smell is incredibly, albeit unintentionally, enticing, meaning many other creatures are often attracted to its den. The Cinnamon Breadbug is often eaten by predators as a sweet treat, in the same way we enjoy candy.”
Louie's notes
- “This creature completely redeems the breadbugs! Throw it in the oven with a light butter glaze, and you'll essentially make some cinnamon bread for yourself! Unlike real bread, Cinnamon Breadbugs have proteins in them that make them much more nutritious.”
Ship's comments
- “Compared to its relatives, this pest only comes out when it is absolutely necessary to hunt for food. I can't tell if it is being resourceful or just plain lazy.”

The Cinnamon Breadbug is a breadbug appearing in Pikmin: Wide World. The Giant Cinnamon Breadbug is its adult form. Cinnamon Breadbugs actively roam, ignoring Pikmin and leaders, sparkly brown-red particles flaking off of them. The only treasures, fruits, and other objects remaining in the open in places it can access are too heavy for the Cinnamon Breadbugs to move or they could not reach, as the rest are within the distinct, leafy dens they dug in soft ground. Upon spotting a subject of interest, a Cinnamon Breadbug pauses briefly to make a wide-eyed, slack-jawed face of surprise at it, then marches directly toward it, hoping to drag it, backward, to its den. It can only drag objects that weigh up to 10 units, repeatedly tugging at and unearthing anything partially buried, even targeting any that Pikmin are currently handling or digging up. It disappointedly releases its grip on an object it can not move, ignoring all instances of that object from that point onward. If a Cinnamon Breadbug takes a corpse or pellet into its den, any health it might have lost is restored. Objects that a Cinnamon Breadbug brought into its den can be recovered at any time by sending Pikmin in much like it were a soil mound, the Pikmin digging out everything it brought in except corpses, pellets, and spiderwort berries, things that would have been eaten or have spoiled, though the sparklium from corpses and pellets is still surrendered. Cinnamon Breadbugs also go after leaders that are lying down, but leaders they grab stand up in panic, and the involved breadbug will be startled in response and not interact with leaders in that way again. Breadbugs have a special interaction with dweevils, including Dweevilmin: they vie over an object they both want or one already has, struggling for a few moments until one emerges victorious. Whichever is larger, stronger, or more numerous usually wins. It is important to note that breadbugs are generally stronger than dweevils and that dweevils tend to hold their objects out of a breadbug's reach, complicating the scuffle's possible outcome. The breadbug or dweevil that loses then ignores that object until it becomes available again for any reason.
A Cinnamon Breadbug has the typical adolescent breadbug physiology, resembling a legged bread roll with creases at the top. It has light skin, a round snout, and yellow eyes. Its grainy blubber is brown-red. Its 2-toed feet are the same color as its blubber and with short, stubby claws.
Cinnamon Breadbugs are resilient creatures with a devious defense mechanism. The blubber repels Pikmins' attacks, making charging ineffective unless directed at its vulnerable face, which is too small to latch onto. A decent strategy is to land Pikmin heavier than White Pikmin and Winged Pikmin on top of the Cinnamon Breadbug, inflicting minor damage and knocking it down for a moment until it rises to its feet and continues on its way. Doing so causes dozens of particles to fly into the air around the Cinnamon Breadbug, causing Pikmin to panic, but also forcing it to let go of an object and temporarily keep its distance. Rock Pikmin can harm a Cinnamon Breadbug from any angle whether thrown or charged but force them into a panic, and a Purple Pikmin landed on it inflicts major damage, though with an equally bigger spread of particles, and cause it to stand up much more slowly because of the impact. Purple Pikmin are optimal overall due to their resistance to panic. The easiest way to combat a Cinnamon Breadbug is to direct Pikmin to an object it is dragging to overpower the creature, which can only futilely try to dig its heels into the ground to stop them. In this process, the Cinnamon Breadbug is slowed and eventually immobilized as more Pikmin grab on. Using almost the maximum amount of Pikmin that can carry the object at once is often enough. When the object is beamed up by the Lander Pod, or Onion in some alternate game modes, the Cinnamon Breadbug, still holding on, is pulled along with, severely damaging the creature once its head slams into the bottom of it but also spreading particles. If the Pikmins' strength is insufficient to overpower it, the Cinnamon Breadbug may try to shake them off the object, also dispersing particles. Pikmin dragged into the den simply emerge alongside the Cinnamon Breadbug moments later. Upon death, it utters one final cry as it falls forward, and goes limp. Particles continue coming off the corpse whenever it is in motion, though they have no effect unless the corpse is abused.
In ultra-spicy difficulty, Cinnamon Breadbugs can drag objects that weigh up to 15 units. They may perform a forward charge to bowl through Pikmin and leaders after being significantly hurt, spreading particles during the duration of the charge.
Notes
Data file #1 (all difficulties): Hitting a Cinnamon Breadbug causes irritating particles to fly off it.
Data file #2 (ultra-spicy difficulty only): A Cinnamon Breadbug spreads particles during its retaliatory forward charge.
Olimar's comments
“The cinnamon breadbug has a coating on its blubber that easily disperses, providing it with the opportunity for a quick getaway when threatened.”
Shacho's comments
“In my day, I tried this "cinnamon challenge" that was all the rage at the time. I couldn't do it, but my friend down the street did!”
Marie's comments
“It would make a fine pet, but its coating would disperse with each pat of its blubber. Breathe some in and it can easily start a coughing fit.”
Louie's comments
“Spicy for some, but full of flavor. The powder is best used as a substitute for actual cinnamon.”
Dolphin Lander's comments
“Oogh, more self-cleaning to do in my hold... This really burns me up! Or am I overheating? Overheating? Olimar? Olimar? Olimar? Olimar? Ol”
