Gameplay aspect |
Raids are recurring attacks against settlements established on primitive planets such as PNF-404 or even advanced ones such as Hocotate. They are done by groups of individuals or creatures for purposes such as overtaking or destroying a settlement or simply taking its resources or abducting its inhabitants. Raids conducted by more intelligent lifeforms are typically far more organized than those by generic wildlife but tend to be far less varied in terms of those involved.
In fanon games
Below this point is where users place their version of raids.

Raids are a reocurring event in Pikmin Evolution. They involve an onslaught of hostile enemies attacking a populated settlement, breaking through the area's infrastructure to do so. While raids are somewhat random in when they occur, the difficulty and size of the raid can be determined by several outside factors:
- Population: the biggest cause of raids is when a settlement becomes particularly large in comparison to other settlements. Usually, the larger a settlement's population is, the larger and more difficult the raid becomes. If every settlement's population is roughly equal to one another, the less likely raids will occur.
- Pollution: raids occur more frequently if a settlement they attack is heavily polluted in relation to the population. Oftentimes, this condition also influences what enemies will attend this raid, as heavily polluted cities attract enemies that utilize elemental hazards.
- Location: the environment also determines how often a raid will occur. Of note is that if a settlement is located in a desolate area, more scavengers will attack the settlement, and likewise, if the settlement is in a more lush area, more predatory creatures will attack.
When a raid occurs, a large red warning sign will appear over the target settlement on the map, indicating the raid's imminent arrival. Needless to say, leaders can join in to help fend off the attack. Raids consist of multiple waves of enemies trying to destroy a settlement's power station, and if that were to occur, the settlement with be lost permanently. The goal is to defeat enough enemies so as to cause the remainder to flee; however, raids may sometimes feature a unique boss enemy, aptly named the "raid boss", that must be defeated to overcome the attack. Raid bosses appear during the raiding party's final push and are substantially more difficult than most standard enemies, requiring more advanced tactics to defeat.
During certain raids, something called a "raid event" will occur, which causes one of several different scenarios to occur. This can range from a sudden wave of themed enemies attacking your settlement, various obstacles suddenly appearing, or some misfortune befalling the settlement, requiring the player to adapt to the sudden events. While a raid can bring much destruction, the large number of resources the event produces can be used to further upgrade the infrastructure of settlements, allowing one to better prepare for future raid events.

In Pikmin: Decayed Leaf
Raids are a new game mechanic featured in Pikmin: Decayed Leaf. Raids are attacks that take place on the S.S. Dolphin and the Onion as it lies dormant at nighttime. The attacks consist of various creatures found all over the planet, usually led by a boss known as a raid commander. Every boss in Pikmin: Decayed Leaf appears in their own special raid. The raid will come in multiple waves of enemies, with the final wave having the commander as the main boss. Sometimes, extra raid commanders may appear earlier in raids depending on the difficulty. Raids happen at night due to the Overlord of All Lifeforms trying to drive Olimar and Louie off of the planet for good.
Each raid has its own difficulty meter and name, indicating which boss will appear in the attack. The ranking is on a scale of one to ten, with one being the easiest and ten being the hardest. Raids can happen in all seven areas, with the later areas containing the hardest raids. In harder raids, multiple bosses may appear at once. A raid is unlocked after a new boss is discovered and killed, even if areas have not been unlocked yet. Bosses will appear in different areas even where their caves and dens are not located. For overcoming a raid, the rewards are Pokos, spicy and bitter sprays, and each Pikmin population is boosted by 25.
The Titan Dweevil, Plasm Wraith, Monochromatic Pinchipede, Ancient Sirehound, and Berserk Leech Hydroe appear only in their respective raids.
