Pikmin E: Remastered/Castaway Mode
This article or section presents information pertaining to Pikmin E: Remastered, a fanon game created by PixelThistle. |
The Castaway Mode DLC for Pikmin E: Remastered serves as an expansion upon the original game's plot, taking place before Olimar arrives on the planet, putting the player in control of a single castaway who must survive and wait until help arrives.
Plot
Long, long before Olimar's return to PNF-404, an unknown castaway awakens, in the middle of an unexplored area. Their ship is wrecked, irreparable, and they are seemingly surrounded by leaflings. Panicked, they run off, for seemingly miles on end, until entering a cave to safely hide away in. After a few weeks, they reawaken, realizing they don't have any food or water to survive on, they must exit their cave, and survive and forage on the surface.

Hives
Hoppmoth hives, or simply just Hives, are underground environments accessed from large, Lumiknoll-shaped objects., which are also used to progress through them, in various areas. When the active leader prepares to delve into a hive, other leaders will follow behind alongside that leader's Pikmin, and Pikmin that are idle, working, or in another leader's squad will return safely to their Onions. The time of day always passes while inside a hive, and the sublevels that constitute a hive always have static layouts. Each sublevel may vary in overall difficulty depending on the quantities of its contents. The final sublevel always has a escape geyser to exit the hive using, usually after overcoming its final challenge. Upon exiting, the entrance to the hive will collapse, rendering it unable to be explored again.
