Pikmin: Deconstruction is a fanon game concept created by Panda python42 for the Nintendo Switch. It is a spin-off of the main series centered on dismantling large vehicles and structures with a large Pikmin army within a specific time limit while dealing with nearby enemies.

Plot

Captain Olimar and Louie are ordered back to PNF-404 to add to the company's current funds. When they land, it seems like the Onions had somehow anticipated their return, allowing the withdrawal of a lot more Pikmin, letting up to 500 leave the Onion. Excited, they depart with their much larger army to try to disassemble large objects they found for pokos.

Gameplay

Pikmin: Deconstruction's gameplay is comparable to Pikmin 3's Challenge Mode's "Collect Treasures!". The goal is to get the highest score possible, by using Pikmin to disassemble a large object/vehicle, with each type excelling in different processes of the demolition.

Dangerous enemies can eat Pikmin or inflict a hazard on them, but can also be killed and collected to add to the total amount of pokos. Each level has a "demolish" trigger inside of it, causing the whole structure to collapse.

Five tiers of medals indicate performance on any stage:

  • Bronze: Poor
  • Silver: OK
  • Gold: Good
  • Platinum: Amazing!
  • Blossoming: Incredible!

Most of these can be gained by getting a fairly good score on the level. The platinum medal requires that demolish feature, but the blooming medal requires collecting the entire structure and all enemies.

Each level has harder remixes that lower the timer, increase enemies' health, and come with their own challenges.

Pikmin

  • Red Pikmin – immune to fire, they are great for fire obstacles and have slightly higher damage than the other types.
  • Yellow Pikmin – immune to electricity, their extra toss height and ability to turn on electronics is invaluable.
  • Blue Pikmin – immune to water, they can explore water areas and save Pikmin from drowning.
  • White Pikmin – immune to poison, their incredible speed is useful for moving quickly and they can see underground treasures.
  • Purple Pikmin – having no resistances, they make up with insane attack and carry strength, being a stunlock attacker.
  • Rock Pikmin – immune to blunt force, they do instant damage on impact and can break glass objects for entry.
  • Winged Pikmin – having no resistances, they make up with the ability to be able to fly over obstacles, allowing them to easily bypass issues that would make other types get stuck.

Characters

  • Captain Olimar – the average family man and package delivery driver, he is fascinated by the intriguing wildlife of PNF-404 and writes notes about the fauna.
  • Louie – a quiet employee of Hocotate Freight, he deeply enjoys food and makes recipe notes on all the native creatures.

Areas

There are 15 stages to complete, with harder difficulty remixes. As progress is made through each area, it is possible to unlock newer Pikmin types to use on previous stages for better times.
