The Empire Field, also known by Yuki's name for it, “Beast East”, is the fourth area in Pikmin: Antarctic Survival. This area offers the game's main source of pikpik carrots, which are fairly common here. Bomb rocks can also be obtained here, and are very important when facing the area's tyrant. The region is also known for having very large raw material chunks, with only the Ancestral Hunting Ground having chunks of larger size.
Layout
The Empire Field is a hilly and craggy region, with large areas of raised earth and stone covered in snow. Many of these ridges of earth expose cave entrances, which lead deep into the caverns below the Antarctic. Some of the Empire Field's cave entrances are not connected to the main cavern network, instead connecting to small isolated cavern chambers that are free of poison gas, unlike the central cavern system. Some of these caves have candypop buds growing within, as well as other plants, but they are generally avoided by the creatures of the Antarctic, which have learned that all cavern entrances are to be avoided due to the unknown danger of the caves.
The different sections of the Empire Field are divided up as the territories and hunting grounds of the various grub-dogs living in the area, and these creatures tend to defend their territory aggressively and react with aggression toward any other grub-dog that enters their section of the field, whether it be accidental or not. These grub-dogs are especially aggressive and hardened hunters, having needed to display this increased ferocity in order to survive in the hostile and frozen climate which is lacking in food.
A massive lowered basin in the ground is located near the center of the Empire Field, and it is the territory of the Empire Field's largest and most feared predator, the Sovereign Bulblax, which is the region's tyrant. This fearsome creature does not discriminate in its possible meals, eating anything that stumbles into its territory, even other grub-dogs.
