The Aristocrab Offspring, as the name implies, is a smaller, younger version of the Peckish Aristocrab. They share many of the same traits, like sidestepping, blowing bubbles, and using their enlarged, crystalline claw to attack. One trait unique to Aristocrab Offspring is that they sometimes hide underground to surprise Pikmin and leaders.

Aristocrab Offspring? Aristoling? What do you prefer, Olimar? – The ship, upon discovering the Aristocrab Offspring

The Aristocrab Offspring is a species of onionshell in Pikmin: Decayed Leaf. They resemble miniature versions of a Peckish Aristocrab, being a small, lime, onion-shaped crab with two bulbous, yellow cheeks. The onionshell walks on two green legs with purple colorations. The onionshell also has a very large, blue claw made of crystal, along with a small, green arm.

The Aristocrab Offspring will remain idle, snapping its claw. It will sidestep towards Pikmin and use their claw to grab and eat them. The offspring can block Pikmin attacks by guarding their body with their shell. If threatened, the offspring will suddenly shake off all Pikmin attacking it. Then, the creature will blow bubbles at Pikmin to catch them by surprise and trap them inside. Occasionally, the offspring can be found buried in the ground with its eyes poking out. If walked over, the crab will pop out of the ground and fling Pikmin all over the place.

Taking out an Aristocrab Offspring can be tricky. Throwing Rock Pikmin or Weighted Pikmin at the claw will cause it to break after enough hits, rendering the creature harmless, but not defenseless. Dart Pikmin can also damage the claw, though they will get stuck when thrown at the target. Swarming the Aristocrab Offspring is an effective strategy, as it will take out the onionshell quickly before it can perform an attack due to its little health. However, this may be difficult, as they’re usually found around Peckish Aristocrabs.

In Overlord mode, the Aristocrab Offspring has a steel shell, meaning that the claw is unbreakable unless a bomb rock is used.

Notes

  • P3 Data file icon.png Data file #1: Aristocrab Offspring may be hidden underground, waiting to strike. Look for their eyes poking out of the ground!
  • P3 Data file icon.png Data file #2: Be careful! If there's an Aristocrab Offspring, a mature Aristocrab may be not too far away.

Olimar's notes

This juvenile Aristocrab spends its time in the soil, absorbing nutrients to help the growth of its claws and body mass. If provoked, it will not hesitate to attack in self-defense. Peckish Aristocrabs will keep their young in rows of five when they are buried by their nests. Aristocrabs will fiercely defend their young, attacking any creature that comes near their crop.

Louie's notes

Collect dozens of these small crabs along with many other sea dwellers like Blinnows or Clamclamps. Dump them all into a pot of water and boil for half an hour, add your seafood seasonings to water as you do so. Drain and dump your seafood broil onto a large table covered in newspaper, and add more seasoning with preferred sauce.

President’s notes

I remember seeing a crab at the beach one time. I tried to pick it up, but it pinched my finger! This larger one seems to pick up the slack and crush our Pikmin...

Overlord’s thoughts

Seeing the mother Aristocrabs tend to their farmland of children reminds me of my past days. It’s almost like my children are imitating the ancient race in a way.
