The Crested Mockiwi appears exclusively in the computer release of Pikmin Z. Much like other mockiwis, the Crested Mockiwi is a species that once evolved for flight but had lost its wings and evolved to occupy the niche of the grub-dog family. The Crested Mockiwi's behavior mirrors a typical Hairy Bulborb; Pikmin thrown onto its backside harmlessly bounce off. To hurt it, Pikmin must be thrown at its crest. Rock Pikmin are especially effective against it because they can hurt it from any point on its body.
Its diet consists of small- to medium-sized animals, and it is preyed upon by the Spiked Mockiwi.

Attacks | Eats Pikmin |
The Crested Mockiwi appears in Pikmin: Spark, where they are encountered exclusively within dens. They behave similarly to normal Mockiwis, as they patrol a set area and attack anything that passes near and ignore them after they leave their eyesight. However, the hair of the Crested Mockiwi prevents the captains from tossing Pikmin from the front, meaning they have to attack the backside to damage it.
In ultra-spicy difficulty, it is faster, and may randomly dash forward while patrolling.
