The Crusted Rumpup is an armrakid that charges forward to eat Pikmin. As the rest of its body is protected by thick armor, its tail acts as its weakpoint.

The Crusted Rumpup is a returning species of armrakid in Pikmin: Decayed Leaf. The creature resembles its original variant in Pikmin 4. The boss can be found in its arena, slowly wandering around. If it spots Pikmin, it will charge them and emit a roar. signaling the battle.
The Rumpup will attempt to eat Pikmin by performing its main attack, charging. The boss will charge the group of Pikmin and snatch up any it runs into in its mouth to consume. If it misses, it will screech to a halt and try to turn in the direction of Pikmin to charge again. If during this time, the group gets behind the Rumpup, the boss will be confused, looking around for the Pikmin. This is the chance to get Pikmin on its tail. Once 25 Pikmin are on the tail, the creature's tail will be lowered to allow a chance to attack it. Iguana Pikmin will pull the tail down with their tongue, extending the time the boss is vulnerable.The Rumpup will then shake all Pikmin off and turn around to charge. Fur Pikmin cannot be shaken off as easily.
Along with charging, the Crusted Rumpup has a few new attacks. The Rumpup will aim its tail at the group and squirt out a stream of liquid poison at the Pikmin. Any Pikmin that touches the puddle will be poisoned by the liquid. If the captains are behind the Rumpup, the creature has a chance to realize where they are. The Rumpup will then smash its tail into the group, flinging away Pikmin and depetaling them. Defeating a Crusted Rumpup for the first time will grant the "Down Rumpup!" achievement.

- “The Crusted Rumpup, despite being menacing with its nearly unbreakable exoskeleton, has a very poor vision. Due to this, the hairs located on its tail and back allow it to sense the electrical fields of its prey, at the expense of it being its most sensitive spot. The Rumpup has a poison gland located in its tail which it can use to either sting and paralyze larger kills, or to squirt at smaller creatures to poison or dissolve them depending on their species.”
