Arma looks around and then points at the Ship, which is currently landing behind a paper bag requiring 20 Pikmin to crush. A strange mound pokes from the ground. It rises, revealing itself as a Lumiknoll. The intro for Glow Pikmin plays and the player must then propagate Glow Pikmin with the Glow Pellets around the area. Doing this will get the player a total of 25 Glow Pikmin, which can then be used to crush the paper bag. The ship comments.

The player is then guided out of the forest by a faint humming, and into the bog part of the area. The humming leads the player to a large clearing with a stump in the middle. There are two ferns growing out of the stump, and a figure sits atop the stump, humming. The figure quickly darts away, revealing their pale green coat as they bonk into a wall of dirt. They quickly climb up and over it, falling into a hole with a gasp. The music has stopped, and the budding tips of the ferns open to reveal eyes, as this stump wasn't, in fact, a stump. They reach out a root towards Olimar, bark parting from the base of the stump to reveal a mouth. Olimar takes a step back, and Arma bows. The stump then speaks out.

Hello, Hocotatian. I presume you're here for treasure? Olimar nods. Olimar looks puzzled, and then begins to respond, to which the Great Oak adds on to. And the Great Oak stretches a root up to the ledge, letting the player access the cave. The Great Oak says one more thing before the player regains control. {{Transcript|And it's nice seeing you again Arma. On the first sublevel of the Burrow of Songs, the same figure is cowering as Louie reaches out a hand. Louie turns and sees the camera, at which point the figure sprints off, and Louie quickly follows. A similar cutscene plays on sublevel six, where the figure stands up and turns towards Louie, who's holding out his hand, and they reach out theirs too. Suddenly, the strange figure turns, revealing their face for less than a second before they run off again. Louie turns and stares at the camera. He raises his hand and a tear falls from his eyes. He runs off again after leaving the text "Stop following me." On sublevel eight, another cutscene plays where Louie is facing the camera, arms braced as the figure cowers behind him. The figure plays a melody that seems to calm him down slightly. Louie turns to face her and then looks up. Taking one step forward, Louie calls down a strange machine-like creature before grabbing the figure's arm and climbing up into the machine. This then starts the Two Birds' Guardian boss fight. During the fight, several Glow Pikmin will spawn, rooted into the ground. Once the Two Birds' Guardian is defeated, Louie falls to the ground and tries to pull the figure free, but fails and then runs off as Olimar approaches. The figure shows the same green coat and has no sort of space suit. Their body is covered in a soft lavender fuzz, unlike the leafling fuzz. Amethyst then stands up and smiles, although she shakes quite a bit. She pulls out a device and tries to press a button on it. When nothing happens, she proceeds to smack the button and then put the device away before trying to escape, though she's unsuccessful. Olimar and Arma then proceed to try and pull her out, and Amy falls out onto the ground, trembling as she looks around.

The player is then switched to Olimar, with Amethyst walking behind him with a false confidence until the end of the day. More notes on Amethyst can be found on her page.

Pikmin: Voyage in Space is a fanon game created by CJ-Does-Pikmin. It takes place after Pikmin 3. This game is available for PC, Switch, and GameCube.

Plot

Opening

Olimar and Louie arrive back on Hocotate in the company ship, which was lost during the events of Pikmin 3 but regained in Olimar's Comeback, and find Chacho waiting for them. Chacho quickly exclaims that he had set up several side projects. These included the "PNForaging Project", "Arma's Bakery", and "Pixie's Polishing Service". Unfortunately, the side projects did not reel in enough Pokos to cover the loans, and Chacho has been sent back into debt. He said that by now, PNF-404 must be low on treasure after the number of missions, and notes that he will be on the lookout for new planets to go to while the search on PNF-404 is ongoing. He notes that Arma, the manager of Arma's Bakery, has already been sent out to PNF-404 on another ship. Chacho quickly goes over the debt number of 10,000,000... The only problem is that PNF-404 doesn't seem to have any truly valuable items on it besides the fuel, Sparklium. Chacho sends Olimar and Louie back on the ship and to PNF-404.

In a second version of the opening, a dark figure quickly darts behind the ship while Chacho talks to Olimar and Louie. This figure is noted later in the story, although they can be seen hanging onto the ship in both versions of the opening when Olimar and Louie depart for PNF-404.

Section 1 – Beginnings

The S.S. Dolphin prototype flies over the Wistful Wild but the mysterious figure clinging on pulls it down, causing them to crashland in a nearby area. The ship seems fine, having skidded across water that had accumulated on what looks to be a McDonald's takeout bag. Olimar gets out of the ship, but Louie is missing... Olimar is ejected and the Ship's pod tells him about the disconnection with Louie.

Bzzzzzrt!! Olimar, how did you crash? I thought you were supposed to be a pilot! Why did you put so much weight in the cargo hold? And we've lost Louie, too!

The camera switches to Olimar as the ship guides the player on how to move leaders around. Then Olimar is led around a bend, where he encounters three Blue Pikmin attempting to defeat a Waddlepus. The ship then sends another message.

Quick, whistle those Blue Pikmin with <keybind>!

Upon whistling the Blue Pikmin, a cutscene will play where the Blue Pikmin do a little dance and hop in the air before staring into the camera. The ship delivers another line of text.

BZZZRT! Strange that we found Blues before Reds, but you know... At least we have Pikmin to help us out.

Olimar then notices something on the ground, picking it up to reveal a data file that reads "Press <keybind> to throw Pikmin!" and then forces the player into throwing a Blue Pikmin onto the Waddlepus, causing it to go into a pipe as the other Blue Pikmin, if they weren't already whistled, look around sadly, before rushing to Olimar.

Upon further investigation, there is a thin paper box that needs to be pushed over to go up a small hill. The box only requires 3 Pikmin to push it, which is easier said than done. Upon getting to the top, there is a crushable paper bag and the ship will send another message.

BZZZRRT! Captain Olimar, I've picked up Louie's signal! He's alright, just stuck. Looks like you two are going to need to work this out! Use <keybind> to switch captains!

Louie stands beside a Spongy Mushroom, which presumably broke his fall. The area is covered in mold. An Onion seems to be entangled in it, too. Louie ventures a small bit further and finds a weird pool of acid... Suddenly, Louie notices something unseen as it is out of view. The ship sends another message.

ZZRT– Louie? Louie! What do you see down there? What's startled you?

Louie bounces backward, revealing a White Pikmin. Louie begins running around frantically, like when he finds Red Pikmin in Pikmin 2, before stopping and turning around to look at it. The White Pikmin then looks at him and spits acid at a nearby rock, leaving a permanent charred spot in it. Louie just shrugs and the camera pans back out.

The player is then supposed to throw White Pikmin on the Poison Spotcaps around the area that are forcing the Onion down with their mold. Once the Poison Spotcaps are destroyed, the Onion will lift itself off the ground, revealing that it is indeed a White Onion. The Onion then spits out one seed, the minimum required to break a Pellet Posy by smacking it. The ship sends another message after the leaf sprouts from the ground.

BZZZRT! Louie, use the <keybind> to pluck Pikmin in the ground!

Once the White Pikmin is plucked, it will play its proper introduction cutscene, with music this time, as it dances around and then coughs smoke into the air. The player is then tasked with collecting more White Pikmin by breaking the Pellet Posies and delivering the pellets to the Onion. With 17 White Pikmin, the player can head up the slope on Louie's side and throw the White Pikmin, and Olimar can throw the three Blue Pikmin. The bag will be collapsed, letting the two captains meet. The ship responds to this.

Louie, Captain Olimar! You're reunited at last!

The two captains approach each other and then begin walking towards the ship.

Well, you hard-working men, should head back in and get some rest. We'll continue searching later.

The ship beams the captains back into their cockpits. The White Pikmin run off to their Onion and the Blue Pikmin quickly jump into the ship's hull for the night. The ship flies off into the atmosphere as four adult Grungy Bulborbs attempt to bite it. The camera pans up as the ship flies offscreen and the Treasure Report screen appears. Once that is passed, it switches to the Pikmin gained screen, followed by the rations screen, and then finally the Mail screen. There's an email from Chacho.

Olimar, Louie! I've found another area around that seems to have more treasure!! You need to head there, quickly!

The next morning, some rations are used up, two of the 10 they have. The next day the player is guided to the Sweltering Sands, a hot desert oasis. Looking around, the player will find the actual oasis, which seems to be forming a moat around a small hill, though Olimar thinks it's an island. There's a big tree casting a shadow across the entire oasis, and directly under the tree is a cave entrance. Walking along the water is an Ironshell Aristocrab, and the Strange Spout is poking out of the ground with a hose going through the sand and popping out before disappearing in the deepest part of the Oasis. Unfortunately, the player cannot reach the oasis island without the Swim Suit upgrade, which is gained from the Strange Spout seen in the sand. The path the Blue Pikmin take through the water doesn't lead through danger, as the quickest way to leave is getting the Strange Spout.

There's a Windy Blowhog blowing air at a cave entrance, covering it in sand. Upon defeating the Windy Blowhog, Pikmin can dig up the entrance to the Tropical Sauna, which contains the Blue Onion, which roots itself in the cave, letting the player choose where to bring the objects into the cave by holding them. The Blue Pikmin are essential. When the player exits the cave, it leaves them off at the Oasis Island, meaning that the player can get the Swim Suit and cross the water on their own. If the player were to ram into the Palm Tree on the island a few times with Perrita, a durian would fall down and break into 3 pieces, allowing for it to be gathered.

With 20 Blue Pikmin, a cardboard box in the oasis can be pushed to allow crossing the small hill and onto a mountain clearing area. Crossing onto the mountain through the Crystal Caverns is impossible until a new Pikmin type is discovered, as there are several heat geysers around it. Around the area are several caves, with plenty of treasures. There's a desk with two shelves, the bottom of which can be reached with a wire from the top shelf. On the top shelf is a cave exit, as the Workplace Conundrum's entrance is found on the inside of a paper bag at the bottom of a toolbox, which is set on its side, making it so the exit is on top. In the center of the top shelf is a massive circle of dust, of which a Beady Long Legs drops down from a rock above. Beating the Beady Long Legs grants a Beady Marble and the Oversized Alerting Device. There are several cinderblocks set up, with one lying over on the bottom shelf. The one lying over has the Fungal Cluster.

Upon collecting 16,000 sparklium, Olimar and Louie will receive an email from Chacho.

Olimar, Louie, I just found another area for you to explore! It might be a bit cold, but I'm sure you can work it out. Louie, you never come to disappoint!

This unlocks the next area, the Treacherous Tundra. Upon heading there, a blizzard is taking place and the two captains crash into a tree, sending the ship off to one spot with Louie, and Olimar elsewhere. No other areas can be accessed until the pair is reunited again.

Section 2 – Lost Again

Olimar drives the ship into a tree through a blizzard, sending himself overboard. The ship safely lands, although startled.

OLIMAR?? YOU CALL THAT MESS PILOTING?? Wait– Olimar? Eh, he'll be fine.

The camera quickly moves to Louie, who's just getting up off the ground. He brushes himself off and looks around. Louie stands up, at which point he can be moved around. The player is then shown to walk around across the open space, where several Pellet Posies grow in the area, and there are strange indents on the ground, which all form a good landing place for the Onion and Ship. Louie is led over to a section with a massive river, which is frozen over, although it is too cold for the captains to cross. The player must explore the area further to find an Onion lying on the ground with its legs tangled inside of a Hydro Jelly. In order to free the Yellow Onion, the player will have to break the Hydro Jelly with Ice Pikmin. There are three Yellow Pikmin standing next to the Onion, which will start the introduction cutscene where the Yellow Pikmin sparks and quickly hits the ground. Near the crash site, there's a pot standing up with some dirt on top of it and five Yellow Pikmin sprouts in it. By throwing at least one Yellow Pikmin up to the sprouts, the player can pluck the others, increasing the count to 8. With the 8 Yellow Pikmin, the player can pull up an electric Yellow Flukeweed, sending five Yellow Pikmin sprouts into the ground nearby. The remaining Yellow Pikmin are found rooted in other locations, and with all 20 Yellow Pikmin, the player can push an Iron Ball, letting the player have Louie walk into a cave as the ship sends another message saying that they have connected with Olimar.

The camera changes perspectives to Olimar, who pushes himself off a pile of snow in the cave, shielding his eyes from the light above. The exit to the cave has Louie waiting before a cliff with a Hydro Jelly on top of it. Unfortunately, the other exit has an Electric Gate, making exiting on the other side require Louie, who cannot reach that yet. Exploring the cave, the player will find another Electric Gate that is blocking an actual cave entrance. Exploring further, the player will find ten Ice Pikmin, which are attempting to reach the top of a pile of books, which has a mound of snow on top of it. In the snow is a the Ice Onion. Whistling them causes them to glide around like they are skating on ice. Using the ten Ice Pikmin, the player can break the Hydro Jelly, allowing Olimar and Louie to meet up once more. Following this, the player can break the Hydro Jelly that's sitting outside, letting the Yellow Onion free. Breaking the Electric Gate on the other side is not quite possible because the water is frozen solid. The bridge is broken, and some pieces are lying under the ice. The next day, a large crash is heard. Another ship is now laying in the snow. There is also now a caved-in section of terrain, which Yellow Pikmin are attempting to dig up. Olimar begins to help them, leading to a cave entrance. The camera then pans out and plays a sour note, just as Olimar realizes that Louie is missing again. The ship intervenes, saying that Louie had been drooling before he hopped in the hole behind Olimar's back, so they must pursue him.

Entering the cave, the player will find Louie using a sharp rock to cut open a Cakeshroom, which he then places on a metal bar, which he mounts above a small campfire. Louie chuckles, and hands Olimar a piece of Cakeshroom omelette, although Olimar declines. The camera pans to the entrance, as the sun peeks through. The sun begins to set, and the camera turns back to Olimar and Louie talking about food as Olimar chugs a bottle of rations. The ship is confused, as it's starting to become sunset and the two captains have been ignoring their nudges. Suddenly, there's a startling roar and a long tongue pierces the cave entrance, but does not hit anything. There's a moment of silence, which is then broken by a sad call of a Whiptongue Bulborb. The sound of it being alerted again can be heard, to which the collected Onions force themselves through the opening of the cave. The Onions roll into each other, fusing them together into one Onion, and then they root inside the cave itself. The ship just sits in silence, watching it all going on as Olimar and Louie walk towards it, sensing the end of the day. When the two captains wake back up, some of the Yellow Pikmin have already started clearing some room in the cave. Olimar and Louie have decided to make this little cave their base of operations. It can now be accessed from the map separately from the Treacherous Tundra.

Next, the player has to head back to the Wistful Wild and enter the Wiring Maze through a body of water with an Electric Gate on the other side. This requires 15 Ice Pikmin to freeze, allowing Yellow Pikmin to access the Electric Gate. The Wiring Maze requires Yellow Pikmin, which allows the player to exit in the cave area in the Treacherous Tundra, making access to the Ice Pikmin Onion possible, along with the other side of the bridge. Half of the pieces of the bridge are on that side of the river, and the other half are in the river. On the shore closest to the Wiring Maze, 20 Ice Pikmin can be found sitting in the water, and when whistled, make the other bridge pieces feasible to reach. Once the bridge is built, another character appears, running past the camera as Olimar questions it. Upon further inspection, it is Arma looking for food in the area. Arma is startled by Olimar's approach, and quickly runs out of view, before she yells and an explosion occurs. This unlocks more of the Treacherous Tundra, and there are footprints leading the player to a large, steep slope. At the bottom of it is a sort of foggy area. Walking onto the slope causes the player to slide, making them fall and tumble into the next area, the Creepy Bog.

Upon entering, the player will find Arma lying unconscious. A massive bell floats above her, a red glow surrounds the area, and then the bell chimes. Pikmin ghosts begin to fly about the red mist. Four thin, twisted black legs crash into the ground. The bell summons a red void that consumes Arma, and it then casts her upward. The Onions attempt to fly in, but they quickly get shot by a laser from a portal above the bell, sending them flying away. Several new Pikmin sprout in the arena. Welcome the Pikasite, a type of parasitic Pikmin. Their bodies are long and thin, letting them hook onto any wild creature... except for the Dead Man's Call, and other bosses. These Pikmin are only available in a few instances. Taking control of several undead enemies such as Bulborbs or Shearwigs, the player can get the Dead Man's Call to trip, making the bell ring and become slightly looser. The Dead Man's Call has three phases, which all need to be taken down for the bell to drop and Arma to be freed from the fog.

Once the Dead Man's Call is defeated, Arma wakes up, confused. Olimar shakes Arma's hand... and Louie is missing again.

Section 3 – Creepy Bog

Arma looks around and then points at the Ship, which is currently landing behind a paper bag requiring 20 Pikmin to crush. A strange mound pokes from the ground. It rises, revealing itself as a Lumiknoll. The intro for Glow Pikmin plays and the player must then propagate Glow Pikmin with the Glow Pellets around the area. Doing this will get the player a total of 25 Glow Pikmin, which can then be used to crush the paper bag. The ship comments.

You two! Finally– Wait, Arma? Where's Louie? We've gotta find him! ... Again...

The music has stopped, and the budding tips of the ferns open to reveal eyes, as this stump wasn't a simple stump. They reach out a root towards Olimar, bark parting from the base of the stump to reveal a mouth. Olimar takes a step back, and Arma bows. The stump then speaks out.

"Hello, Hocotatian. I presume you're here for treasure?" Olimar nods. "My advisor, Amethyst, has told me a lot about you. I am the Great Oak. This area used to be a wonderful forest... But some big hunk of metal came through and cut us all down... Say, if you could help me... I'm sure I could be of some help." Olimar looks puzzled, and then begins to respond, to which the Great Oak adds on to. "Yes, yes. Your president was sent into debt again, Amy told me so. And about that predicament... I saw some guy in a spacesuit fall into the cave. I didn't get a chance to tell Amy about it, but maybe they're the one you're looking for. Here... let me give you a path up." And the Great Oak stretches a root up to the ledge, letting the player access the cave. The Great Oak says one more thing before the player regains control. "...It's nice seeing you again, Arma. Long time, no see." At this, the Great Oak closes his eyes and drifts back off to sleep. The player is then allowed access to the Burrow of Songs.

On the first sublevel of the Burrow of Songs, the same figure is cowering as Louie reaches out a hand. Louie turns and sees the camera, at which point the figure sprints off, and Louie quickly follows. A similar cutscene plays on sublevel 6, where the figure stands up and turns towards Louie, who's holding out his hand, and they reach out theirs too. Suddenly, the strange figure turns, revealing their face for less than a second before they run off again. Louie turns and stares at the camera. He raises his hand and a tear falls from his eyes. He runs off again after leaving the message "Stop following me." On sublevel 8, another cutscene plays where Louie is facing the camera, arms braced as the figure cowers behind him. The figure plays a melody that seems to calm him down slightly. Louie turns to face her and then looks up. Taking one step forward, Louie calls down a strange machine-like creature before grabbing the figure's arm and climbing up into the machine. This then starts the Two Birds' Guardian boss fight. During the fight, several Glow Pikmin will appear, rooted into the ground. Once the Two Birds' Guardian is defeated, Louie falls to the ground and tries to pull the figure free, but fails and then runs off as Olimar approaches. The figure shows the same green coat and has no sort of space suit. Their body is covered in a soft lavender fuzz, different from leafling fuzz.

The player is then switched to Olimar, with Amethyst walking behind him with false confidence until the end of the day.

After collecting 230,000 sparklium, Chacho sends another note.

Olimar, Louie! You two have to explore this new area! It's... very dark, but there's so much treasure on my radar! You've gotta go there! I've sent you the coordinates. Quick!

After it is a scripted event where Amethyst is sitting alone on a stump, singing a song as several wild creatures from PNF-404 dance around. Olimar opens the door with groggy eyes and Amethyst quickly snaps around, stopping her song. The forest mirage quickly dissolves back into the room in the ship, where Amethyst is sitting on a stump with several Pikmin sitting around her. She just looks down and gets up, walking offscreen as the event ends. After this, it goes to the rations screen, where an image of Amethyst appears, where she's smiling and holding a ration bottle. This is a one-time appearance. After this, Amethyst becomes a playable character.

Section 4 – Forest of Freedom

Once the player heads to the Forest of Freedom, a Jumbo Red Bulborb can be found sleeping with several Yellow Pikmin rooted in the ground next to it. The Bulborb drops the combined Onion on death. But there's a new color. The Rock Onion is combined with the rest, and the Onion spits out one Rock Pikmin sprout upon being rescued. The Rock Pikmin introduction sequence has them bouncing around before jumping into the ground and pulling themselves back out.

Gameplay

Rations return, and 1 ration is required per character except for Louie, who is excluded past the first day, and can be gained from multiple treasures, along with creatures while the Gourmet is available. Rations can also be bought with chips, which are a very common currency.

Some areas can be broken into by exiting caves, examples being the Sweltering Sands to the Powdered Peaks, but most are story unlocks only.

Content

Pikmin

Pikmin are ordered by the point in the story they are found.

 • Blue Pikmin – resistant to water can not drown, can rescue other Pikmin from water, and moves slightly slower than other Pikmin.
 • White Pikmin – immune to poison, can poison enemies that eat them, can dig up buried treasure, and moves slightly faster than other Pikmin. All other base stats of this Pikmin are minimal.
 • Yellow Pikmin – immune to and can conduct electricity, moves slightly faster than other Pikmin types, and can be thrown higher in the air than other Pikmin.
 • Ice Pikmin – immune to ice and float on water. They can not drown but also can not swim. They freeze water when in numbers, and can freeze and shatter both hydro jelly and wild creatures. Ice Pikmin deal slightly less damage than most other Pikmin types.
 • Pikmin Parasite – long, thin Pikmin that adhere to wild creatures, taking control of them.
 • Glow Pikmin – bright green Pikmin that can be used in caves, the Creepy Bog, most of the Forest of Freedom, and during sunset. Can be crushed but are immune to all other hazards. Propagated by Lumiknolls instead of Onions, and glow pellets instead of corpses or ordinary pellets. Do not have the glowmob ability like in Pikmin 4.
 • Rock Pikmin – slate-gray Pikmin resistant to blunt force, being able to be whistled out of the ground when crushed. Can break crystals, can not latch onto enemies, and move slightly slower than other Pikmin types.

Characters

 • Olimar – the default character. Has no special benefits.
 • Louie – can be thrown farther than Arma and Olimar, but moves slightly slower than other captains. Louie does not consume a ration at the end of the day.
 • Arma – provides increased damage when attacking, or throwing a Pikmin on an enemy. She is resistant to poison but can drown and be electrocuted even if wearing the Swim Suit or the Electric Shield.
 • Termina R – moves slightly faster than Olimar, Louie, and Arma but cannot pluck Pikmin.
 • Amethyst – moves faster than all other captains, does much less damage, does not wake enemies up, can slowly heal other captains, can use sprays faster, and plucks Pikmin twice as fast as other captains. Amy will be unresponsive for exactly one real-life minute after being thrown and will become unresponsive for the rest of the day after killing an enemy. Amethyst wanders around and has several unique animations for enjoying the environment when left idle or made unresponsive. Can also sing.
 • Chacho – can be thrown farther than Arma and Olimar. Chacho moves slightly faster than Arma, Olimar, Termina, and Louie. Chacho consumes two rations at the end of the day instead of one but will consume one if only one is left, providing one more day to get rations.
