Pikmin: Colors is a real-time strategy Pikmin game created by Leoasiago. It was released the July 18th, 2030. This game includes new Pikmin types, enemies, areas, and caves. Emerald, Olimar's son, is a new playable leader in the game.

Trailer

The trailer shows Olimar walking on grass, and he sees a Red Pikmin. He calls it and he continues to explore with it. While walking along, he sees an army of evil Pikmin and a giant Bulborb, and Olimar proceeds to flee before they can see him. The logo then fades in.

Plot

Day 1

After the events of Pikmin: Flavors, Captain Olimar returned to his family. One day, the President of Hocotate Freight called him into work for a meeting where he revealed that the company was once again in debt. The President believes that the All-Devouring Black Hole Loan Sharks dumped the treasures that Olimar and Louie worked to collect back on PNF-404, and the previous debt of P2 Poko icon.png × 20,000 is even steeper, at P2 Poko icon.png × 45,000 to be precise, but there are P2 Poko icon.png × 70,000 in treasures to collect. Afterward, Olimar and Louie head to PNF-404 in the Dolphin Lander, but a crash-landing destroys it. Olimar lands in a small area where Red Pikmin are attacking an enemy. After the dwarf bulborb is dead, Louie appears, and together, Olimar and Louie, with their Red Pikmin, find the Red Onion. Olimar and Louie then use red pellets to grow their Red Pikmin population to more effectively break down a white bramble gate and have them carry a treasure that was behind it. By the time the treasure is collected, sunset approaches, and the day ends.

Day 2

Upon landing again in the first area, Olimar and Louie will recall how they can withdraw and deposit Pikmin from and into the Onion, and consider using pellets to grow more Pikmin. They will need 40 Red Pikmin to flatten a paper bag blocking the way forward. After doing so, they will come across a Red Bulborb sleeping in the center of the following section, though they can avoid it. Close to the Bulborb is another white bramble gate, behind which the entrance to the first cave lies. On its first sublevel are some Snowy Blowhogs fighting some Ice Pikmin, and after getting them, Olimar and Louie can collect 2 more treasures. In the second and final sublevel are many Snowy Blowhogs and Dwarf Red Bulborbs. Clearing the cave will reward enough pellets to propagate 55 Pikmin. There should be more than enough Pikmin to collect the Spherical Atlas on the surface, and collecting it will unlock the next area.

Day 3

Landing in the newest area, Olimar and Louie withdraw their Red Pikmin and Ice Pikmin. They recall exactly how to throw Pikmin with Switch A.png and swarm them with Switch L.png+Switch Right Stick.png, and use them to defeat numerous Male Sheargrubs and Female Sheargrubs buried around the landing site. If one of the two leaders hasn't already been hurt, one particular Male Sheargrub will ambush one of them and bite them, indicating that leaders have health. After killing or fleeing from the meddlesome Male Sheargrub, Olimar and Louie go on to the next section of the area and collect a Sunseed Berry by a Red Bulborb. By this time, there should be over 100 Pikmin on the field if all of them are out, and Olimar and Louie will note that there can only ever be 100 Pikmin on the field at once. Additionally, after collecting the Sunseed Berry and all other treasures so far have been collected, an announcement will proclaim that 10% of the debt has been repaid. Going further, Olimar and Louie encounter a Honeywisp, and after it is hit by a thrown Pikmin, any leaf-stage Pikmin that touch the nectar it dropped will take a drink, gaining flowers. In eyeshot is a Cloaking Burrow-nit that has swallowed a Chance Totem. Near that Cloaking Burrow-nit is a cave entrance that lies just in front of a poison white bramble gate, but can be accessed by any Pikmin type. On its first sublevel are 4 Dwarf Red Bulborbs and 1 Red Bulborb. One of the Dwarf Red Bulborbs has swallowed a treasure. On sublevel 2, some Yellow Pikmin fight a Dwarf Orange Bulborb. On sublevel 3 is an Orange Bulborb with a treasure inside. The fourth and final sublevel is home to a Jumbo Bulborb, the first boss. Upon defeat, it will drop the Amplifinator, which has a weight of 35 normally but, like with all other boss treasures, that weight will decrease if there aren't enough Pikmin present. After finishing the cave, Olimar and Louie use their newfound Yellow Pikmin to get a Healing Cask positioned on a high ledge by the cave's entrance. Starting from this day, the player can end the day early by pressing Switch Minus.png to open the menu and selecting "Go to Sunset".

Endings

There are two endings in this game: the first is when the debt is repaid, and the second is when all treasures are collected.

Gameplay

Game modes

Locations

The following are the four areas, each having four custom caves.

Encyclopedias

Piklopedia

See: Pikmin: Colors' Piklopedia

There are many creatures in Pikmin: Colors, which all appear in the Piklopedia.

Treasure Hoard

See: Pikmin: Colors' Treasure Hoard

All of the treasures from Pikmin 2 return in Pikmin: Colors, because the All-Devouring Black Hole Loan Sharks dumped them all back on PNF-404. There are many new treasures to be collected as well.

Controls

The controls are much like those of Pikmin 4 since Pikmin: Colors is a Nintendo Switch title. Emerald can talk with Olimar and Louie in a chat on the menu by pressing Switch X.png.

In the DS version, the controls are very different, as is the gameplay.

Music

This section is a stub. You can help Pikmin Fanon by expanding it.

Glitches

  • Pressing Switch B.png twice on the area select screen will, after 5 minutes of inactivity, cause strange music to play and softlock the game in the start menu.
  • Using ultra-bitter spray just as the Waterwraith's Piklopedia entry is opened will petrify its rollers but not the Waterwraith itself, causing the beast to repeatedly struggle to lift its rollers until the spray wears off. Using the spray again will petrify the boss but not its rollers.
  • Waiting 5 minutes after collecting a treasure will reset the day.
  • After selecting Emerald's Bedtime Stories and watching videos of the previous days, the screen will turn white and the game will softlock at the start menu. This was fixed in a later patch.
  • In the Emerald's Bedtime Stories menu, some leaders may be missing some of their features for moments at a time.
  • Talking to Emerald will cause Olimar's legs to disappear for as long as dialogue continues. Additionally, the color of Emerald's suit will be purple rather than its usual color.

Trivia

  • In a scene when the game starts, the hair color of Louie is different. This is likely a mistake.
  • The "The Portal" DLC costs P2 Poko icon.png × 45,000 in Europe and P2 Poko icon.png × 50,000 in Japan.
  • When Cyan Pikmin are attacked by a Hairy Bulborb, their heads will enlarge and they will be extinct.
