Waddlepus - Pikmin Fanon

The Waddlepus is an enemy encountered in Pikmin 3. Waddlepi are small, purple octopus-like creatures with several yellow pores covering their back. They have green eyes and small O-shaped mouth that hides a large yellow pore. The Waddlepus is also an aquatic enemy and can be encountered underwater as well as on land.

Waddlepi are generally calm enemies. They are always found sleeping and wake up only when Pikmin or a Leader is nearby. Once disturbed, the Waddlepus will inflate itself and slowly waddle towards the captain and their Pikmin. If Pikmin are latched onto the Waddlepus when it inflates, they will be thrown off. Once inflated, the Waddlepus can then shoot out a stream of bubbles from either its mouth or from its pores on its back. These bubbles do not harm Pikmin, but rather trap them and Captains inside. The bubbles will eventually pop, but the player can prematurely pop the bubbles by throwing a Pikmin at them.

The Waddlepus makes a reappearance in Pikmin: Attack of the Breadbugs and appears in the Marsh Territory. As it did in Pikmin 3, the Waddlepus can blow bubbles to trap Pikmin and Captain Olimar in. Along with that ability, it has a new one: squirting ink to distract attackers. When sprayed with ink, Pikmin caught in the cloud will simply stand as they would if they did not have a task while the Waddlepus retreats to a different area. Waddlepi are always found underwater, and thus can only be attacked by Blue Pikmin.
