The Puffstalk is a species of sporovid appearing in Pikmin Evolution. It appears the same as it did in Hey! Pikmin, only with more detail and a more autumnal coloration. They are found near thin crevices over abysses, where they will pop out from when anything gets near. Their feet are never shown, only their upper bodies, which they use to hammer themselves into the ground. This results in an audible thud and crushes anything under the Puffstalk's head at the time. Puffstalks are situated over the edges of cliffs and act as an obstacle as, if they didn't kill Pikmin with their crushing attack, they certainly would when they fling them to their deaths. Some Puffstalks live alone and can pop up from and attack from multiple different holes, while some live in small groups and attack from their own individual holes.
Puffstalks are sturdy creatures, having a rather respectable amount of health, and a resistance to explosions due to their sturdy root structure. To defeat one, wait for it to slam its head into the ground then have up to ten Pikmin pull on its head in an attempt to pull it out of its hole. While doing so, they will tug at the head of the Puffstalk, damaging it before it either returns to its hole, ready to attack again, or is pulled out, the force causing it to fly into the distance, with no recoverable corpse in sight. This cartoonish demise is fitting as the Puffstalk acts more like a goofy obstacle rather than an active threat, and so it would naturally befall such a comedic enemy. When they are flung from their hole, a tiny pocket of sparklium seeds is revealed, a fine enough reward for such a small threat.

The Puffstool Larva is a sporovid appearing in Pikmin: Attack of the Zoo. It is the immature form of the Puffstool but lacks its signature spore attack. Throwing even a single Pikmin directly on top of one will kill it instantly, although attacks on its body will also result in its swift defeat.
