The Young Fiery Wollyhop, officially known as the Young Fiery Wollywog, is the transitional form between a Fiery Wolpole and a Fiery Wollyhop, and as such, its body is engulfed in flames. When on land, it moves and attacks by hopping forward, crushing any Pikmin that it lands on and burning those that touch it, but not deliberately trying to kill them. Presumably, it can also swim in water but will be extinguished for as long as it reminds submerged.

Ruby is the Fiery Young Yellow Wollywog that appears in Pikmin: Antarctic Survival. She hatched and grew in the Frozen Fen as a Fiery Wolpole, but traveled east to the Ruins of Awakening after growing legs, since the Frozen Fen was full of water which neutralized her fiery natural defense mechanism. After moving to the Ruins of Awakening, Ruby took up residence underneath a massive piece of fallen metal, which is where she is encountered by an exploration team in the game. Due to her hideout underneath a piece of metal, only small creatures can fit underneath to Awaken Ruby, as taller or larger creatures cannot.

When Awakened, Ruby is friendly and playful, as she is still a young child. She gets along well with the other younger residents of the Diamond Settlement, such as Yuki, and they often play together. Ruby is seen as a cheerful fiery ball of optimism, as almost nothing can make her mad or upset.

Ruby is named after the ruby, a gemstone that is typically red and often associated with fire.

The Young Fiery Wollywog is a returning species of amphituber in Pikmin: Decayed Leaf. Being the transition between a Fiery Wogpole and a Fiery Wollywog, the creature resembles its original variant in Hey! Pikmin. The creature will hop around idly, waiting for Pikmin to approach. If the frog spots Pikmin, it will begin to hop toward them, creating a small patch of fire wherever it lands. If it manages to land on Pikmin, they will be crushed and killed. Due to its fire, only Red Pikmin can harm the Wollywog. If the creature enters a body of water, its flames will extinguish.

Notes

Olimar's notes

This stage in the life cycle of the Fiery Wollywog is the transitional phase between a Wogpole and matured amphituber. Like the Fiery Bulblax, waxy secretions cause a chemical reaction within the frog's skin; causing its flames to constantly burn. Due to its flame, the Wollywog will tend to live in humid environments, laying its eggs under rocks or in ancient, metallic structures. These creatures rarely eat due to a lack of food in their habitat, tending to consume very small insects.

Louie's notes

After frying this frog to a crisp, slice it into chips and douse it in a kimchi seasoning. Seal in a bag and bring it to a party!

President’s notes

I've seen many creatures on this weird planet creating seemingly infinite flame! Perhaps I could take one home and use it to constantly keep my fireplace lit. This little guy would be the best contender due to his size.
