The Batty Vermigator is a disturbing enemy in Pikmin: Interstellar Cryptid. It resembles a small, gray alligator colored akin to a black rat. It has a gray body and a pink tail, and a head covered in unkempt fur. Its yellow eyes bulge out of its head, and it has massive ears. Whenever they hear a sound from leaders or Pikmin, they'll rush over to inspect the source of the sound. If they sense a leader, they will attempt to eat them, chewing and spitting them out afterward. They don't actively hunt Pikmin but will eat them if they happen to get their jaws on them.

Notes

Olimar's notes

This subterranean reptile's eyes, despite their immense size, have all but become useless. It uses its acute hearing abilities to listen for fresh meat that it can wrap its jaws around. It's surprisingly rare to see them lingering near or within the rimstone lakes they share their habitat with. The mammalian attributes of this creature are of particular intrigue, suggesting that certain taxonomic classes have been breaching into others. Creatures like this, birds with dinosaur bodies, shrews with duck bills, and the grub-dogs that show residual traits of almost every class at once, suggest that taxonomy on this far-off planet might be less of a linear system, but more of a "web" of relations, with certain organisms possessing traits that are otherwise unheard of in their lineage.

Louie's notes

Clean the meat as thoroughly as possible and mold into slabs. Poach the morsels in a beef stock and drizzle with fish sauce. Serve with mashed parsnips.

Bentley's notes

I would say anything, but I don't want to attract the attention of this thing. Ha! Just kidding!

Eloise's notes

It looks scruffy–reminds me of my grandpa Otto's dog.
