Attacks Fires blueberries
Watch out, there’s blueberries everywhere! – The ship, upon discovering the Blue-shotberry

The Blue-shotberry is an enemy that appears in Pikmin: Decayed Leaf. The creature resembles a large, green, thorny vine covered in dozens of blueberries, with eight small leaves on the bottom of the plant acting as a base. The Blue-shotberry plant can come in a variety of different sizes depending on its environment, like most fruitshots.

The Blue-shotberry can be found idly swaying around in the wind. The creature is the only fruitshot in the entire species to not attack Pikmin unless provoked. If provoked, however, the vine will suddenly curl up, aiming itself at the attacking Pikmin. Within the span of a few seconds. fifty berries will suddenly be whipped out at any nearby Pikmin. These berries are extremely deadly, being able to knock out a captain or kill up to fifty Pikmin. The blueberries can even damage other enemies, being able to take down even a Spotty Bulbear. Once finished attacking, it will reload over the course of 20 seconds, slowly regrowing berries before going back to a neutral state.

It’s best advised to not attack the Blue-shotberry at all. But if necessary, using a bomb rock to defeat it is the safest option. Using a fire starter also works as well. The creature has an extremely strong stem, so using any Pikmin to attack it will not work in the slightest. Overall, it’s best to avoid the Blue-shotberry at all costs unless it has to be killed to access something like treasure.

In Overlord mode, the Blue-shot berry can fire up to three hundred berries at once in the span of thirty seconds, meaning finding cover is critical. The plant will take thirty seconds to reload.

Notes

  • P3 Data file icon.png Data file #1: Blue-shotberries are best left alone unless you want to be mowed down by fruit!
  • P3 Data file icon.png Data file #2 (Overlord mode): If you touch a Blue-shotberry, it’s over.

Olimar's notes

Another species of fruitshots with extreme energy and growth capabilities, this species pushes itself to its limits by growing hundreds of blueberries as ammo in mere minutes. Due to this excruciating and energy-expending process, the plant has a very short lifespan, only a single month. The plant grows as fast as possible, firing its berries into the land so they can keep repopulating through the seeds in them.

Louie's notes

Use the vine to fire all the yummy berries into your mouth! Mmm... Side effects may include mouth pains and rope burn.

President’s notes

That banana and coconut were explosive... but this little guy isn’t! Right...? Just one bite wouldn’t hurt... unlike the last two...

Overlord’s thoughts

I hear someone getting mowed down by some sort of projectile. Must be that Louie character; serves him right to try to cook the inhabitants of my ecosystem.
