The Bumping Chrysanthemum is a miniboss chrysanthemum in Pikmin 2... Again? based on the Creeping Chrysanthemum's Pikmin 2 incarnation. It mimics the appearance of three common sunflowers, has higher health, and can eat Pikmin as well as crush them. True to its name, it can shake Pikmin off strongly, scattering them a fair distance away, only adding to the threat it poses.

- “Bumping Chrysanthemum / Taxaracum rotundus / Chrysanthemum family. This species used to be named the Creeping Chrysanthemum, but with the discovery of another Creeping Chrysanthemum, we had to rename it the Bumping Chrysanthemum. This species is much larger and stronger despite looking goofy, using its bulb to eat Pikmin. Aside from disguising as sunflowers, it is much more different than the Creeping Chrysanthemum in other ways, not only in the latter's frog-like appearance but also either's body shape and arms or legs. Additionally, the Bumping Chrysanthemum can inflate like a balloon to bounce Pikmin back, scattering them all around very far. As well, it can crush Pikmin.”

The Bumping Chrysanthemum in Pikmin: Interstellar Cryptid resembles its Pikmin 2... Again? incarnation, in turn being based on the Creeping Chrysanthemum's Pikmin 2 incarnation. It disguises itself as a trio of Black-eyed susans, but emerges when prey comes near and shuffles towards them. It uses its massive bulb to eat Pikmin and can stretch outwards to push Pikmin away. Crimson Runbulbs are premature Bumping Chrysanthemums.

- “An earlier species of predatory chrysanthemum, the bumping chrysanthemum was initially identified as the creeping chrysanthemum, but ended up being reclassified after the discovery of more advanced species. Compared to the amphibious composition of the creeping chrysanthemum, the bumping chrysanthemum's root is much less mobile. However, it is also much more elastic, which it uses to shove smaller creatures away from it. Due to its carnivorous lifestyle, it has no need for nutrients earned from photosynthesis.”
