Caves Bulborb Realm, Sandy Abyss
Attacks Eats and crushes Pikmin

The Adhesive Wollywog is a vibrant relative of the Yellow Wollywog appearing in Pikmin: The After Years. Its body is green and covered in white dots, its eyes are black, and its underbelly is yellowish. It has much more sophisticated jumping abilities compared to other amphitubers, being capable of quickly springing forward to flatten Pikmin. However, it prefers to eat Pikmin rather than crush them. It can lap up several Pikmin at a time with its long and sticky tongue. Black Pikmin are unaffected by its adhesive tongue and are simply knocked down if they are struck by it, rendering the creature harmless against them unless it decides to crush them. If the Adhesive Wollywog happens to ingest a bomb rock, it will die from it.

In Pikmin: Dual Worlds, the adhesive coating a Adhesive Wollywog spreads onto the ground when the creature moves. Adhesive Wollywogs lack a mouth and tongue, and after they die, their cap sloughs off of their body and may be collected as a treasure named the Dry Defense, which is worth P2 Poko icon.png × 30.

Yoshord's version

Yoshord's notes

All amphitubers are filter-feeders, tending to squish organisms because the paste can be consumed while the whole creature is not. The only exception is the adhesive wollywog, which lacks any drive to squish prey, and has a tongue that looks like it came straight out of an emperor bulblax's mouth. Even though I stopped questioning the overly common convergent evolution, this is quite a change with no buildup, and its only purpose seems to be a challenge to explorers. I suspect that this species may have been genetically modified. But given how fast evolution occurs here, it is hard to be certain.
