The Blizzra is an enemy in Pikmin: Interstellar Cryptid. As with its polar opposite of a relative, the Pyra, the Blizzra is a towering creature with a crablike body, cauldron-shaped center, and towering mound of plasma. Unlike the Pyra, it is a light blue with small icicles developing on its body. Its plasma is chilled rather than heated, and contains two green spheres resembling eyes. It is the fryid representing Artisan Aqueduct.

The Blizzra passively expels red balls of icy slush that linger on the ground before melting. When approached by leaders or Pikmin, its body will contract as the creature makes a near inaudible, ghastly sound. It will then fire off numerous balls of slush. Aside from the red balls, it also releases yellow slush that will fall The best method to deal with a Blizzra is to send Ice Pikmin up its legs or throwing Yellow Pikmin at its body whilst standing underneath it. When defeated, its plasma will recede and the creaturw ill stumble across the area as it heals. If ten Pikmin are thrown at its body, its legs will fold up and the creature will stay down for salvage. If brought to the S.S. Lacewing, its soul can be seen rising from the ship's pod, signifying its defeat. If brought out of the S.S. Lacewing on the surface, it will appear without its eyelike spheres or plasmatic mass, leaving only small droplets of residue in the bowl-like center of its body. Defeating the Blizzra will count towards the "Fryid Fanatic" achievement.

Notes

Olimar's notes

Blizzra zoas have a low tolerance to intense temperature, and tend to dry up even in the heat of a desk lamp. It is due to this that they live within the plasmatic column that makes up the primary body of their parent. Various compounds build up on the rim of its cauldron-like cavity. The zoas eat the resulting substance, referred to as "tartar", while the pieces that they miss drift to the bottom of the cavity, of whixh it expels as waste matter. It also functions as a defense mechanism, and exactly what the waste material contains can be determined by its color.

Louie's notes

The slush it spits up comes in a trifecta of flavors and pretty colors, and work wonders as natural flavoring for shaved ice. Just don't eat the yellow slush...

Bentley's notes

The floor surrounding its impressive legs was both slippery and sticky at the same time. I often wonder how it affects the creatures that live around it, such as any microorganisms that thrive off of the cold. At the same time, however, all we found was a preserved joustmite, which makes me wonder if it came first.

Eloise's notes

My grandpa is a museum curator, and there's an entire exhibition showing off taxidermies of various creatures from throughout the galaxy. I wonder how he would work with this one, recreating the big slimy part that sicks out of its body like a mole... formaldehyde, maybe?
