The Nectarous Dandelfly is a harmless enemy in Pikmin 3 that acts as a replacment for the Honeywisp. It resembles a large dragonfly-like creature with a segmented body resembling that of a catterpillar or honeypot ant, and has the face of a butterfly with its proboscis.

The Nectarous Dandelfly drifts carelessly around, not minding enemies or nearby Pikmin. If a Pikmin lands a direct hit on one of its hind segments, the segment will collapse into puddles of Nectar, the number of doses range from one to five depending on where you land your Pikmin, resulting in enough to flower around 10 to 50 Pikmin with one encounter. Throwing a Pikmin near the creature's head will result in all five segments falling down, while hitting it on the back segment will result in only that one falling down. After its nectar has been stolen, it will swiftly fly away.

If a Pikmin touches on one of its hind segments, that segment will disconnect from the body, along with all tail segments connected to it. They will all fall onto the ground and collapse into puddles of nectar. Because there are five segments, the number of Pikmin that can be flowered up depends on the location the enemy is hit. Throwing a Pikmin near the creature's head will also result in all five segments falling. After being hit once, it will swiftly fly away.

The Nectarous Dandelfly usually follows a set path. It emits an echoing chirp-like noise when nearby, which is a good indicator of its presence. The creature flies at a moderately high height, and is at most points difficult to hit with any Pikmin aside from Yellow Pikmin and Winged Pikmin. After it is hit once, it will not die, but rather fly away, not returning for the rest of the day.
