The Somersaulting Blinnow is a species of elips introduced in Pikmin 2... Again?, first appearing in Meadow of Memory. They are the relatives of the Puckering Blinnows, being much more dangerous than them. The Somersaulting Blinnows first appear in the Pond of Serenity, they can only be in water. So if they are on ground, all they can do is to helplessly flop around, unable to harm Pikmin or leaders until it somehow manages to get back to water.

The Somersaulting Blinnow is a fish-like creature, its body is long and covered in scales, being shiny, in colors of yellow, orange, and green, making it colorful. Its color being the opposite to the Puckering Blinnow. The Somersaulting Blinnow have a round head with yellow eyes with black pupils on each side, its mouth resembles that of a dolphin. While this, its body is teardrop-shaped and flat, having purple scales.

The Somersaulting Blinnow will swim through the water, it may seem harmless due to its smaller size and not threatening appearance. However, once the Pikmin and leaders get near the water body the Somersaulting Blinnow is in or are above it, it'll swim toward them before leaping out of the water attempting to catch them, if it hits a Pikmin, it'll catch them. After some seconds if the Somersaulting Blinnow isn't defeat in time, it'll eat the Pikmin. It is more dangerous to Winged Pikmin, whi are always flying, the Somersaulting Blinnows being able to catch them. The Somersaulting Blinnows aren't limited to attacking out of the water, they are also able to attack Pikmin on the water, those being the Blue Pikmin.
