The Unidentified Spotted Jellyfloat, often abbreviated to USJ, is a boss jellyfloat in Pikmin 2... Again?. It is like the other jellyfloats, but purple and larger, and flat like a generic alien mothership. It is found in the Outer Cavern, being the first boss, and later returns in the Nightmare Den, and finally the Final Challenge. It darts through the air, and when spotting Pikmin and leaders, it will move over their location and project a white tractor beam that flows downward, like those from Onions in Pikmin 1 and Pikmin 2. After some seconds, the tractor beam will become jagged and yellow and begin flowing upward, pulling any Pikmin and leaders in its reach into the creature's mouth. Pikmin will be eaten or leaders will be spat out. Unlike other jellyfloats, it eats Pikmin immediately after finishing its attack, rather than after some time. If it ingests a bomb rock, like those obtained from the dirt mounds around the arena, it will crash to the ground, vulnerable to attack until it takes to the air again.
