The Furnace Platin is a miniboss platepole appearing in Pikmin 2... Again?. It is a two-legged tadpole-like creature with brown, rocky, pentagonal platings forming a dodecahedron, and yellow eyes with black pupils, and teal legs. It also has a tail originating from the parts of its body not protected by plating, and its body is orange-hot. The Furnace Platin patrols its territory while idle, and to attack, it can extend its platings forward. The plates will burn any Pikmin except Red Pikmin but can be destroyed if enough damage is dealt. However, its glowing molten interior can be only attacked and damaged by Red Pikmin. Upon defeat, all its protective plates will break, and the core-like body will emit steam as it rapidly cools, turning gray.
