The Somersaulting Blinnow is a species of elips appearing in Pikmin 2... Again?, first encountered in the Meadow of Memory, at the Pond of Serenity. They are the relatives of the Puckering Blinnow, and much more dangerous. They can only survive in water, and flop around helplessly on the ground if they find themselves outside of it. While on dry land, they are unable to harm Pikmin or leaders until they somehow manage to get back into the water.

The Somersaulting Blinnow is a fish-like creature. The Somersaulting Blinnow has a round head with yellow eyes with black pupils on each side, its mouth resembles that of a dolphin. Its body is teardrop-shaped, flat, long, and covered in shiny scales in the colors of yellow, orange, and green, making it quite colorful. Notably, its coloration is the opposite of the Puckering Blinnow's.

While idle, the Somersaulting Blinnow will peacefully swim along. It may seem harmless due to its smaller size and non-threatening appearance. However, once Pikmin and leaders approach, it'll swim toward them before leaping out of the water and attempting to catch them. If it hits a Pikmin, it'll catch them, and eat them after some seconds if not defeating before then. It is most dangerous to Winged Pikmin, which are easy prey to the Somersaulting Blinnows below. That said, Somersaulting Blinnows can defend themselves against Blue Pikmin in the water with them as easily as they can to Pikmin outside of it.
