Family Grub-dog

Jumbo Red Bulborbs are giant Red Bulborbs and are never seen asleep. To hunt, they either patrol an area or hide within some vegetation as an ambush tactic. Upon spotting Pikmin or leaders, a Jumbo Red Bulborb will run toward them, scream, and then proceed to lunge at them three times in an attempt to eat them. If it manages to catch any, it will stand up and eat them; otherwise, it will trip and try again. If a lot of Pikmin are attacking it, it will shake them off and then immediately begin lunging.

The Giga Bulborb is a humongous grub-dog in and a main part of the storyline of Pikmin: The Huge Debt. When Red Pikmin, Blue Pikmin, Yellow Pikmin, Purple Pikmin, and White Pikmin have been discovered and Peril Cliff is visited, a cutscene will play when the area is landed in. The Ship will land and the Onions for some reason won't come down. Olimar beams down, and suddenly the Giga Bulborb will eat the ship whole and chase Olimar. Then while being chased, Pikmin of all colors above will jump down and help Olimar chase the Giga Bulborb to rescue the ship.

Attacks Eats Pikmin

The Greater Red Bulborb is a larger enemy appearing in Pikmin: New World, normally found in more difficult caves. It is twice the size of a Red Bulborb, which it resembles. The Greater Red Bulborb is a type of breadbug mimic that is larger, rather than smaller, than its original, and is more closely related to the Giant Breadbug, explaining its large size.

Unlike ordinary Red Bulborbs, which sleep most of the time, Greater Red Bulborbs are diurnal and constantly roam an area they are in, making them particularly dangerous. Their large maws make them even more of a threat because they can easily eat large amounts of Pikmin in an instant. The Greater Red Bulborb can not simply eat Pikmin, and must instead tilt its face downward and charge forward with its mouth agape, allowing it to scoop Pikmin into its mouth. However, it can not swallow Pikmin until this attack is completed, which means those Pikmin can be saved if the attack is interrupted or the creature is killed. Its charging attack can be interrupted by throwing Pikmin at its eyes or by throwing Purple Pikmin anywhere on it. If the attack is interrupted, or if the Greater Red Bulborb is killed, the creature will slide forward, eventually coming to a stop if it doesn't hit a wall, allowing the Pikmin to escape its mouth unharmed. Sometimes, the Greater Red Bulborb will stumble and fall as it charges, releasing any Pikmin it may have grabbed. Cream Pikmin are also useful against a Greater Red Bulborb because they fly around its eyes and can inflict substantial damage to the creature.

Notes

Olimar's notes

This creature resembles a red bulborb in appearance and morphology, but is double its size and weight and is actually a member of the breadbug family. However, it is not a relative of the dwarf red bulborb or the other dwarf bulborb mimics, but in fact, is a closer relative of the giant breadbug. Its coloration protects it from predators as a youngling but seems to serve no purpose as an adult. One theory holds that it actually goes through a period of molting in its late adult development, in which its bodily color and patterns change to the normal breadbug coloration. So far, this theory is unprovable.

Louie's notes

Produces enough meat to feed an entire population. It is best sold smoked and sliced into thin cuts of flesh. Any cold cuts this creature produces are best put in a fridge or freezer and can then be left there for several years without ever going bad. Goes great on subway sandwiches.

Sagittarius' notes

Domesticating this colossal beast can be very troublesome. It is nearly impossible to housetrain and will often chase or kill other household pets. It will romp about the house all day but is an extremely heavy sleeper at night. It will also make unbearable snoring noises, which reverberate through every nook and cranny of the house. Sleeping individuals must be piled onto a large wagon and then removed from the house that way. It is highly improbable that they will be woken by this.

Libra's notes

Are just the same as the red bulborb and dwarf red bulborb but coats produced but should be labeled as extra-large.
