The '''Battering Groink''' is a [[Shot-fish family|groink]] appearing in ''[[Pikmin Z]]''. It looks fairly similar to the [[Gatling Groink]] but is slightly larger and has smooth, blue skin, a facial shield resembling silver rather than [[Crystal|glass]], and shorter exhaust pipes. Its diet and predators are unknown. Battering Groinks are a rather interesting type of biomechanical creature only found during the day, as opposed to the night-only Gatling Groink. While it is unable to shoot projectiles, it's still just as dangerous because once a [[Pikmin family|Pikmin]] or a [[leader]] enters its vicinity, it will proceed to charge at a fast speed directly into them. This is especially dangerous as it can launch Pikmin into [[hazard]]s, or kill them by [[Blunt force|crush]]ing them against a wall. If two are present in the same area, both Battering Groinks can ram into each other, killing whatever's in between the two by crushing them. The Battering Groink can't be attacked head-on due to its durable shield, and its charging must be avoided in order to reach its vulnerable backside. This can be a bit difficult within [[Pikmin Z/Dungeons|dungeon]]s, as most encounters are in enclosed spaces.
