The Fountain Crawmad is a relative of the [[Hermit Crawmad]] that appears to be nearly identical upon first sight. However, Fountain Crawmads are distinctly blue. Upon sighting nearby Pikmin, they raise their heads from their burrows and spray a line of water. To [[Blue Pikmin]] it is nothing but a taunt, and it may knock them over or cause them to lose flowers. Other Pikmin are in more danger from the bubbles, though. After spraying a few blasts of water, the Fountain Crawmad has to "recharge" its water supply and does so by bending out of its hole and quickly drinking any water around it before returning to turret position. When it moves to sip water, toss Pikmin over its head so that they land on the partially exposed backside. Fountain Crawmads have also been known to pounce forwards at Pikmin like Hermit Crawmads, so they are dangerous for this reason as well.
