Upgrades are collectibles that benefit leaders and grant access to alternate game modes. In Pikmin: Wide World, upgrades are separated into 3 distinct categories: unlocks, Exploration Kit upgrades, and ship parts.

Unlocks simply unlock alternate game modes, them being Battle Mode, Challenge Mode, and Bottomless Abyss, although not necessarily in that order.
Upgrades
All upgrades are listed alphabetically.
The Exploration Kit consists of upgrades that benefit leaders and sometimes even nearby Pikmin and Pikmin in their squad, if any. It includes upgrades from p2 and p3 but also includes some newly-introduced upgrades. Exploration Kid upgrades are not obtained from treasures like they are in Pikmin 2, but instead appear as the upgrade itself encased in a small plastic capsule, like in Pikmin 3, that must be carried to the Dolphin Lander to be unlocked. Most are found setting around various locations, but some other upgrades are only found by defeating bosses. Each Exploration Kit upgrade requires at least fifteen Pikmin to carry it, and a maximum of twenty-five can be carrying it at once. All Exploration Kit upgrades can be toggled on or off from the Dolphin Lander, and some can be toggled through the HocoPad. All Exploration Kid upgrades are found at tier one, and the Dolphin Lander can upgrade most of them using Sparklium to improve the benefits they provide. Of note is that the functionality of the Treasure Gauge and Fruit Finder may be interfered with by a variety of sources.

Unlike ship parts in p1, which are used to rebuild the S.S. Dolphin, ship parts in Pikmin: Wide World are used to expand upon or improve the Dolphin Lander's capabilities. There are only a few ship parts to collect, but each of them greatly benefits the leaders. Like Exploration Kit upgrades, ship parts can be found around the world.

Below, all upgrades are listed in alphabetical order by name.

The Exploration Kit consists of upgrades that benefit leaders, but also sometimes Pikmin by extension. It includes upgrades from p2 and p3, as well as newly-introduced upgrades. Each upgrade is classified as a mark 1 model when found, and the Dolphin Lander can augment the benefits of most using sparklium.

Exploration Kit upgrades are not obtained from treasures, but small plastic capsules with a transparent top; delivering such a capsule to the Dolphin Lander will grant the upgrade within. Some are found in the open, but others are spat up by bosses. Each Exploration Kit upgrade requires the strength of 15 Pikmin to carry and can only be carried by 25 at most. Few capsules may contain more than 1 instance of the upgrade within, and even fewer contain enough for every leader to have at once.

Most of these upgrades can be toggled on or off from the Dolphin Lander, and some through the HocoPad, but only 1 can not be toggled whatsoever. Any that are of limited quantity must be exchanged between a leader that has it and one that does not, at those same places. Furthermore, leaders normally can equip only 1 upgrade on a specific part of their bodies, with some exceptions, and only ever 1 instance of it.

|Fruit Finder||Functions almost identically to the Treasure Gauge, but detects fruits instead of treasures. It appears on the heads-up display above the Treasure Gauge. Some differences between the Fruit Finder and the Treasure Gauge are that the Fruit Finder flashes pink and the beeping noise it makes is lower-pitched and riddled with static.||1x range||1.5x range||2x range||150||300
| Mega Punch || Improves a leader's damage output. Marks 2 and 3 increase it further and enable another quick hit to follow up a previous one. Also at mark 3, leaders can deliver a devastating third blow in a series of hits that deals 8% more damage but ends the combo. This third hit can destroy some objects, examples being snowballs, sweetgum pods, and even boulders. Notably, at mark 3, the first hit has mark 2's benefits and the second hit has mark 3's benefits. || Hands, compatible with all fistwear || 2 || 102% damage || 104% damage || 106% damage || 175 || 350

|Mega Punch||Increases the damage of all punches delivered by leaders. Each tier increases leader punch damage and adds another punch to form a combo. Tier three allows leaders to deliver a devastating third punch that deals ten percent more damage when delivering consecutive punches. This third punch can destroy objects such as snowballs, sweetgum pods, and even boulders. The tiers for this upgrade are unique in that each punch delivered in a consecutive series of punches matches the tier number; the first punch always does tier one's damage, the second punch always does tier two's damage, and the third punch always does tier three's damage.||102% damage||104% damage||106% damage||175||350

Ship parts
Ship parts
*Jet Juicer: increases the juice obtained by all fruits by ten percent. The juice used for sprays obtained from spiderwort berries is also increased by the same amount.
Ship parts, rather than being used to rebuild a ship, are used to expand upon or improve the Dolphin Lander's capabilities. There are only a few ship parts to collect, but each greatly benefits the leaders. Like Exploration Kit upgrades, ship parts can be found around the world.
*PikHold: allows leaders to store juvenile parasitic Pikmin hosts they have taken with them. Purple Pikmin and White Pikmin may also be stored within it until their respective Onions have been rescued. Captmin and hostile Pikmin types such as Alien Pikmin and Mushroom Pikmin cannot be stored in the PikHold.
*Jet Juicer: has a more effective juicing system, extracting 10% more juice from all fruits delivered to the Dolphin Lander, including spiderwort berries for increased spray production.
*Repair Module: allows leaders to repair their spacesuits at the Dolphin Lander. Healing uses an amount of Sparklium that scales up with how much health is going to be recovered, however, with 35 being used to restore a quarter of a leader's health.
*PikHold: allows leaders to store juvenile parasitic Pikmin hosts in the Dolphin Lander. Purple Pikmin and White Pikmin are also stored in it until their respective Onions have been rescued. Captmin and hostile Pikmin types such as Alien Pikmin and Mushroom Pikmin can not be stored.
*Revitalizer: when a downed leader is brought to the Dolphin Lander, she will ask the player if they would like to spend 140 to revive them. If the player accepts, she will beam up the downed leader, revive them, and beam them back down to solid ground. Revived leaders only have a quarter of their health but can be healed. If the player declines, the Dolphin Lander will simply beam up the downed leader and keep them safe for the rest of the day. The player can also change their mind and revive a downed leader after initially declining by interacting with the Dolphin Lander's hologram and selecting the option to revive the downed leader.
*Repair Module: allows leaders to mend their spacesuits, recovering lost health, at the Dolphin Lander with sparklium. The cost scales up with how much health is to be recovered, however, with 35 used to restore 1/4th of a leader's total health.
*Sparklium Extractor: doubles the amount of Sparklium obtained from any resource that is brought to the Dolphin Lander. This includes, but is not limited to, fruits, treasures, and of course, Sparklium seeds.
*Revitalizer: when a downed leader is brought to the Dolphin Lander, she will ask the player if they would like to use 140 to revive them. If accepted, she will beam up the downed leader, revive them, and beam them back down. Revived leaders only have 1/4th of their total health but can be healed. If declined, the Dolphin Lander will simply beam up the downed leader and keep them safe for the rest of the day. The player can also change their mind and revive a downed leader after initially declining by interacting with the Dolphin Lander's hologram and selecting the option to revive the downed leader.
*Sparklium Saver: reduces the amount of Sparklium the Dolphin Lander uses for any task by at least half of the original cost.
*Sparklium Extractor: doubles the amount of sparklium obtained from any resource brought to the Dolphin Lander. This includes, but is not limited to, fruits, treasures, and of course, sparklium seeds.
*Sparklium Saver: reduces the amount of sparklium the Dolphin Lander uses for any task by half, rounded down.
*Whistle Transmitter: allows leaders to recall all Pikmin to the landing site, no matter if they are idle, working, or fighting, unless they are currently buried.
*Whistle Transmitter: allows leaders to recall all Pikmin to the landing site, no matter if they are idle, working, or fighting, unless they are currently buried.

Upgrades are collectibles that benefit leaders and grant access to alternate game modes. In Pikmin: Wide World, upgrades are separated into 3 distinct categories: unlocks, Exploration Kit upgrades, and ship parts.

Upgrades

All upgrades are listed alphabetically.

Unlocks

Unlocks grant access to alternate game modes.

 • Aggression Meter: unlocks Battle Mode, wherein players compete or ally against other players.
 • Anomaly Log: unlocks Bottomless Abyss, an endless cave players can try for a high score in.
 • Telecommunications Device: unlocks Challenge Mode, a series of stages presenting various challenges.

Exploration Kit

The Exploration Kit consists of upgrades that benefit leaders, but also sometimes Pikmin by extension. It includes upgrades from Pikmin 2 and Pikmin 3, as well as newly-introduced upgrades.

Each tier increases flight time. Back 1 3 seconds 4 seconds 5 seconds P4 Sparklium icon.png × 200 P4 Sparklium icon.png × 400
Mega Punch Improves a leader's damage output. Ship parts

Ship parts, rather than being used to rebuild a ship, are used to expand upon or improve the Dolphin Lander's capabilities. There are only a few ship parts to collect, but each greatly benefits the leaders. Like Exploration Kit upgrades, ship parts can be found around the world.

 • Jet Juicer: has a more effective juicing system, extracting 10% more juice from all fruits delivered to the Dolphin Lander, including spiderwort berries for increased spray production.
 • PikHold: allows leaders to store juvenile parasitic Pikmin hosts in the Dolphin Lander. Purple Pikmin and White Pikmin are also stored in it until their respective Onions have been rescued. Captmin and hostile Pikmin types such as Alien Pikmin and Mushroom Pikmin can not be stored.
 • Repair Module: allows leaders to mend their spacesuits, recovering lost health, at the Dolphin Lander with sparklium. The cost scales up with how much health is to be recovered, however, with P4 Sparklium icon.png × 35 used to restore 1/4th of a leader's total health.
 • Revitalizer: when a downed leader is brought to the Dolphin Lander, she will ask the player if they would like to use P4 Sparklium icon.png × 140 to revive them.
 • Sparklium Extractor: doubles the amount of sparklium obtained from any resource brought to the Dolphin Lander. This includes, but is not limited to, fruits, treasures, and of course, sparklium seeds.
 • Sparklium Saver: reduces the amount of sparklium the Dolphin Lander uses for any task by half, rounded down.
 • Whistle Transmitter: allows leaders to recall all Pikmin to the landing site, no matter if they are idle, working, or fighting, unless they are currently buried.
