The '''Pinching Sheargrub''' is an enemy that appears in ''[[Pikmin: Decayed Leaf]]''. The creature is an uncommon [[Mandiblard family|sheargrub]], mainly being found in [[cave]]s. Pinching Sheargrubs resemble the physical form of most mandiblards, but it has a completely orange coloration with thin, yellow stripes. The sheargrub is also uncharacteristically smooth and rubbery. Along with two small eyes with black sclera, the sheargrub has extremely powerful pincers which are much larger than most sheargrubs.
Pinching Sheargrubs will remain buried underground. When approached, they will burrow out of the ground and slowly pursue Pikmin. Once they get close, they will snag up to three Pikmin at once. It will take a few seconds to violently squeeze these Pikmin, resulting in their immediate deaths. Once they perform a single attack, they will immediately turn around, return to their origin point, and burrow back underground. Afterward, it will burrow back up when approached, repeating the process.
A Pinching Sheargrub can be dangerous if in larger groups. Other than that, they are very weak, like most mandiblards. Any Pikmin type can easily kill a Pinching Sheargrub, for it has no weaknesses or resistances. Attacking the enemy when it's fleeing is the easiest way of taking it out.
In Overlord mode, the Pinching Sheargrub can pinch up to five Pikmin instead of three. They are also much faster, and will no longer back down when performing an attack.

The Pinching Sheargrub is an enemy that appears in Pikmin: Decayed Leaf. The creature is an uncommon sheargrub, mainly being found in caves. Pinching Sheargrubs resemble the physical form of most mandiblards, but it has a completely orange coloration with thin, yellow stripes. The sheargrub is also uncharacteristically smooth and rubbery. Along with two small eyes with black sclera, the sheargrub has extremely powerful pincers which are much larger than most sheargrubs.
