The '''Spiny Burrow-nit''' is a relative of the [[Cloaking Burrow-nit]] whose green shell is covered in sharp thorns, making it look a lot like a cactus while partially buried in the ground. This spiny shell will stun Pikmin if they touch it, making them easy prey for the creature, which emerges from the ground when approached and begins to scuttle towards Pikmin to try and snipe them with its long nose. Its nose is covered in barbs which allow it to snag up to five Pikmin at a time, but it is a slow mover and it is quite easy to rescue Pikmin caught before they can be eaten.

The Spiny Burrow-nit is a relative of the Cloaking Burrow-nit in Pikmin X: Deep Freeze whose green shell is covered in sharp thorns, making it look a lot like a cactus while partially buried in the ground. This spiny shell will stun Pikmin if they touch it, making them easy prey for the creature, which emerges from the ground when approached and begins to scuttle towards Pikmin to try and snipe them with its long proboscis. Its proboscis is covered in barbs, allowing it to snag up to five Pikmin at a time, but it is a slow mover and it is quite easy to rescue Pikmin caught before they can be eaten. Above ground, the Spiny Burrow-nit's shell is green, but takes on a light blue in the underground subareas it can also be found in. This has no bearing on the creature's actual behavior, as both act identically regardless of coloration.
