Appearance in Pikmin 4. |
Electric gates are gates that carry electrical currents. As such, Pikmin that are not Yellow Pikmin can not touch them, lest they risk dying or becoming temporarily paralyzed. In Pikmin 2, electric gates resemble a fence made of metal and sink to the ground as they take damage. In Pikmin 3 and Pikmin 4, they are made of fluorescent lamps laid horizontally on top of one another, with each lamp breaking down and becoming harmless at each stage of destruction, and when the gate is finally opened, all of its lamps harmlessly explode. Also in Pikmin 3, some electric gates feature drawings on the pillars on either side.
In fanon games
Below this point is where users place their version of electric gates.
In Pikmin: Attack of the Breadbugs
This article or section presents information pertaining to Pikmin: Attack of the Breadbugs, a fanon game created by Cheepy-Cheepy. |
Electric gates appear in Pikmin: Attack of the Breadbugs, at the Land of Wonders, and appear as they did in Pikmin 2. Four are present within the Spark Territory, one of which blocks the exit of the territory, and one is found in the Marsh Territory, guarding the Blue Onion.
In Pikmin: Decayed Leaf

Electric gates are a returning obstacle in Pikmin: Decayed Leaf. The large gates resemble their Pikmin 2 incarnations, being large, rusted, fence-like structures with voltage flowing throughout. Pikmin that touch this gate will be shocked and possibly killed if not aided. The only Pikmin type that can tear down electrical gates are Yellow Pikmin due to their electrical immunity. A bomb rock can work as well.
In Pikmin: Shipwrecked Stargazers

In Pikmin: Shipwrecked Stargazers, electric gates both appear and function as they did in Pikmin 3. However, one minor visual difference is that the needles of the power gauges begin to recede further back as the layers get destroyed, indicating that the gate is losing power.
In Pikmin: The Winds of Light

Electric gates appear in Pikmin: The Winds of Light, and have their Pikmin 2 and Pikmin 3 appearances, respectively named the electric fence and electric wall. The electric fence sinks into the ground as it is damaged and kills any Pikmin, except Yellow Pikmin, that touch it, and the electric wall becomes visibly destroyed as it is damaged and merely temporarily paralyzes all Pikmin that are not Yellow Pikmin.
