The Puffstalk is a species of Sporovid appearing in Pikmin Evolution. It appears the same as it did when it previously showed up, only with a more autumnal color palate. They are found near thin crevices over the abyss, where they will pop out when anyone gets near. Their feet are never shown, only their heads, which they use to hammer themselves into the ground. This results in a visible thud, which causes anyone unfortunate enough to be under the Puffstalk to be crushed to death. Puffstalks are situated over the edges of cliffs as a obstacle as if it didn't kill your Pikmin with its crushing attack, it certainly will when they fling them off to their deaths. Some Puffstalks live alone and can pop up from and attack from multiple different holes, while some live in small groups who attack in their own individual holes. Puffstalks are sturdy creatures, featuring rather respectable health and a resistance to explosions due to their sturdy root structure. To defeat them you need to wait for the Puffstalk to slam its head in the ground then have up to 10 Pikmin to carry its head in an attempt to pull it out of its hole, when the required amount is gathered they will tug at the head of the Puffstalk, damaging it, before it either hides back into its hole or gets pulled out, where the force causes it to fly in the distance, with no recoverable corpse in sight. This cartoonish end is fitting as the Puffstalk acts as more like a goofy obstacle rather that an active threat, and such a cartoonish fate would fit to befall on such a comedic enemy. When they are flung from their holes it reveals a tiny pocket of sparklium seeds your Pikmin can collect, a fine enough reward for such a tiny threat.
