In Pikmin: Shipwrecked Stargazers the Firesnout Beetle Larva is around the size of a Dwarf Red Bulborb. It acts similarly to how it was in Hey! Pikmin, but with noticeable differences. It remains completely burrowed in walls until leaders or Pikmin come by, at which point it will emerge and breathe fire, blocking the passageway until it tires itself out, and goes back in the wall. It can be attacked at this time, and falls out of the wall upon defeat.

Notes

Olimar's notes

A species of lithopod that requires intense heat to keep its blood pumping, it does not spit boulders, rathing using certain minerals in the rocks it eats to provide it with a catalyst for its incenidary ablilities. The metabacteria it works with breaks these minerals down into volatile chemicals that it uses for fire, both for heat and defense. It has a crown of numerous blowholes around its head to dodge the risk of overheating.

Louie's notes

This creature tastes remarkably like pork. Fry it in a hot wok with shallots and kohlrabi slices to make its flavor more varied.
