The Shearblug is an aquatic mandiblard that can inflate to make spikes protrude from its body. Shearblugs patrol a set area until they see Pikmin. When they spot them, they inflate their bodies to protrude spikes and then roll after them. A Shearblug can most easily be defeated when its spikes are retracted, but Rock Pikmin or a similar Pikmin type can be used otherwise. Pikmin that touch its spikes will perish.
The Shearblug is a returning enemy in Pikmin: Decayed Leaf. Resembling its initial appearance in hp, the creature can only be found in water. The Shearblug will slowly patrol its territory until it sees a captain or Blue Pikmin. Once it does, it will curl up, protrude numerous spikes, and charge the group by rolling very quickly. Any Pikmin hit by this charge will be killed, with the Shearblug being able to take out 5 Pikmin at once. Weighted Pikmin cannot be harmed, but will be deflowered. If the Shearblug's attack misses, it will uncurl and stay still for about 3 seconds, providing a small window of opportunity to take out the Shearblug quickly. Shearblugs are usually found in groups of 2-3, tending to attack one at a time to efficiently take out the squad.

The Shearblug is a returning enemy in Pikmin: Decayed Leaf. Resembling its initial appearance in Hey! Pikmin, the creature can only be found in water.
