The Shearblug is an aquatic mandiblard that patrols its territory until seeing Pikmin, wherein it curls up to project its spikes and then roll after them.

The Shearblug is a returning enemy in Pikmin: Decayed Leaf. Resembling its first appearance in Hey! Pikmin, the creature can only be found in the water. The Shearblug will slowly patrol its territory until it sees a captain or Blue Pikmin. Once it does. it will curl up, protrude numerous spikes, and charge the group by rolling very quickly. Any Pikmin hit by this charge will be killed; with the Shearblug being able to take out 5 Pikmin at once. If you manage to dodge a Shearblug's attack, it will uncurl and stay still for about 3 seconds. This gives you a small window of opportunity to take out the Shearblug quickly. Shearblugs are usually found in groups of 2-3, tending to attack one at a time to efficiently take out your squad.
