Its hump features either holes or spots, both of which being green. It is cream in color and has either a pair of antennae that each have an orange tip or a pair of eyestalks that support featureless, orange eyes.

The Humped Bloyster is a smaller, harmless mollusking that appears in Pikmin: Wide World. It can be found idly wandering a small territory, either on land or in water, and sometimes in the presence of one to two other Humped Bloysters. When on land, a Humped Bloyster will leave a short-lasting trail of slime in its wake. A Humped Bloyster will generally ignore the presence of Pikmin, leaders, and other enemies, but will creep out of their path to avoid them bumping into it. Covering the hump of each Humped Bloyster may be as little as three and at most five bridge fragments that serve as protection from harm. Each creature possesses bridge fragments of matching color, never having two or more different colors of bridge fragments at once. The bridge fragments can be peeled off of the creature by Pikmin, but killing a Humped Bloyster will instantly free every bridge fragment from its body. If peeled off of the Humped Bloyster, bridge fragments can not be recovered by the creature, even if another takes its place before the fragments can be used to construct a fragment bridge.
Its hump gives the Humped Bloyster its name. It is a slimy, cream-colored, sluglike creature that is oblong in shape and big enough in size for its hump to accommodate up to five bridge fragments. Its hump features orange spots of varying sizes, and under the front of its body is a circular, toothy mouth. It possesses a pair of eyestalks that each have an orange rim and supports a black, oblong eye. The base of its body is noticeably darker in color than its body. Unlike most other molluskings, Humped Bloysters lack a gill-bulb.
Although notably resistant to damage, a Humped Bloyster is incapable of harming Pikmin or leaders. Any exposed portion of its body can be attacked, although attacking its hump inflicts the most damage to the creature. As mentioned previously, bridge fragments must be removed from the creature's hump to expose parts of it. To shake Pikmin off, a Humped Bloyster jiggles rapidly. Upon death, it goes limp and flattens slightly, adopting a shriveled and dried appearance.
Notes
Olimar's notes
- “Feeding solely on plantlife, the humped bloyster is a peaceful creature that actively avoids conflict, even moving out of the way of potential danger. As an intelligent form of defense against predators, the humped bloyster shields its hump using bridge fragments, which stick to the creature because of a specialized adhesive substance it secretes through its skin. As these bridge fragments are peeled away from its skin, the humped bloyster's hump becomes increasingly more vulnerable to attack.”
Shacho's notes
- “Considering these creatures carry around bridge pieces to help protect themselves, it makes me wonder what other objects they could affix to themselves. They could be a great way to move things around Hocotate Freight grounds.”
Marie's notes
- “Because they mean no harm and feed only on vegetation, humped bloysters would be a fine pet for virtually anyone. They're also very low-maintenance pets, requiring very little supervision. Just be sure to keep an eye on any objects they may affix to themselves.”
Louie's notes
- “The hump contains the finest meat, fit for even five-star gourmet restaurants, which clamor for it.”
Dolphin Lander's notes
- “Molluskings are notable for their tails, but this species seems to lack one. It can breathe underwater just fine, so where are its gills?”
