Kakureimos are new enemies found in Pikmin: Infection in Progress. They mainly reside partway underground in soft, moist earth. Kakureimos can be identified as purple bumps with mustard-yellow stripes buried halfway into the damp earth. Once confronted, a Kakureimo swarm will unearth and begin their pathetic assault. The President cannot assist in carrying Kakureimo corpses because of their light weight.
The Kakureimo is an enemy found in the files of p3. It is a fat, slug- or leech-like creature that is a bit smaller than a Red Bulborb and harbors a circular pink mouth lined with jagged white teeth on the underside of its comparatively small head. It emerges from the ground and then waddles around to explore a small area surrounding its initial burrowing spot, but, upon seeing Pikmin or leaders, becomes alarmed and then rushes quickly to its initial location, where it burrows into the ground again. After being left alone for some time, it will reemerge and repeat the cycle, although it may decide to stay underground completely until the coast is clear, or periodically cautiously poke its head out to survey the surrounding area while it hides, even while Pikmin or leaders are in sight. Placing a bait berry in the vicinity of a Kakureimo will cause it to rush over to the berry and begin consuming it. While eating a bait berry, it will be momentarily distracted, causing it to temporarily ignore Pikmin and leaders until it notices them again or they harm it, in which case it will drop its berry and rush back to its hiding spot to hide. A Kakureimo will occasionally drop a full blob of nectar upon death.

Appearance
__TOC__
A Kakureimo is only slightly bigger than a Pikmin's head. It possesses three small green eyes on either side of its head. Kakureimos have mustard-yellow underbellies and have stripes on their abdomens of the same hue. The rest of the body is a deep purple. Two long antennae protrude from the front of the head and are tipped with yellow as well. On the front of both sides of the body are fins that match the body's color scheme. The bottom of the head harbors a large circular mouth that is used to cling on to the back of a Pikmin's head.

Combat
In fanon games
When near a group of Pikmin, a swarm of Kakureimos will typically wait until the group has passed to begin preying on them. Kakureimos will the latch onto the back of Pikmins' heads once the group has passed as to not alert the Pikmin in front of the victimized ones. Kakureimos only take a single hit from a fellow Pikmin or from the President to be knocked off and/or vanquished. When latched onto, Pikmin will typically idle around or subtly wander away from the group. Pikmin that have been latched onto by a Kakureimo will ignore any and all commands issued to it.

Trivia
The Paralyzing Land Dumple, also known as the Kakureimo, is a large, relatively tubby, land-dwelling slug-like creature in Pikmin E: Remastered. It aimlessly wanders the land, and upon spotting Pikmin or leaders, it will attempt to flee the area. Upon being attacked, however, it will either roll over and crush whatever's attacking it, eat its attackers, or paralyze them through the use of the substance it secretes. White Pikmin are immune to its secretions.

The Kakureimo is a Pikmin Eco exclusive enemy found within the overworld of Bounty Canopy. It was to be an enemy in Pikmin 3 but was left unused like the Crystal Wollywog and Emperor Bulblax. It doesn't attack you or your Pikmin right away, and instead tries to run away from you upon finding you. It will continue to run away for about twenty seconds before it buries itself underground. Once it does this, it won't respawn in the area until the next day.

Throwing one near the den will cause the slug to dash out and eat it for 10 seconds, presenting a chance to attack it. If attacked, it will shake Pikmin off and begin to waddle back to its den. The creature has a lot of health, so it will take a few bait berries to defeat the Kakureimo. Although the creature is harmless, it usually has a treasure, which will pop out of the beast's den after its defeat.
