Appearance in Pikmin 4.

Electric gates are gates that carry electrical currents. As such, Pikmin that are not Yellow Pikmin can not touch them, lest they risk dying or becoming temporarily paralyzed. In Pikmin 2, electric gates resemble a fence made of metal and sink to the ground as they take damage. In Pikmin 3 and Pikmin 4, they are made of fluorescent lamps laid horizontally on top of one another, with each lamp breaking down and becoming harmless at each stage of destruction, and when the gate is finally opened, all of its lamps harmlessly explode. Also in Pikmin 3, some electric gates feature drawings on the pillars on either side.

Electric gates are a returning obstacle in Pikmin: Decayed Leaf. The large gates resemble their Pikmin 2 incarnations, being large, rusted, fence-like structures with voltage flowing throughout. Pikmin that touch this gate will be shocked and possibly killed if not aided. The only Pikmin type that can tear down electrical gates are Yellow Pikmin due to their electrical immunity. A bomb rock can work as well.
