The Mysterious Life-Form is the name given to one of the forms of the Plasm Wraith. In this Goolix-like form, it looks like a blob of watery plasm. It relentlessly follows the Pikmin carrying its prized possession throughout its lair. Once it has traveled far enough, the creature reverts to its original humanoid shape and inhales any excess plasm lying around as well as its possession. After this point, it will begin openly attacking its aggressors.
The Mysterious Life-Form cannot be permanently destroyed and must be fled from. When it is translucent, any Pikmin thrown into it will simply be enveloped by the creature's blob-like form. The Mysterious Life-Form can only be attacked when it is opaque, but it slowly revives by reforming itself after it has been incapacitated, dropping its possession. The only time it becomes opaque is when it reclaims its possession and attempts to flee with it. It may eject an Elemental Plasm from its body if it is attacked. Any Pikmin inside of the Mysterious Life-Form when it becomes opaque will be simultaneously killed, but they can be freed before that happens by continuously whistling at them.
Enemies that are located in the territory belonging to the Plasm Wraith will mostly likely be mere illusions and not true creatures; when killed, they disintegrate into plasm. If these creatures are not killed, the Mysterious Life-Form will envelop and digest them in its body when it reaches them.
The Mysterious Life-Form can take shortcuts through some walls and obstacles to further pursue its targets. If it cannot reach its prized possession for any reason, such as it and its possession being separated by a body of water, it will chase after the closest leader and Pikmin instead.

The Plasm Goolix returns in Pikmin: Wide World as the Plasm Wraith's alternate form. It is first seen when approaching the arena the Plasm Wraith is fought in, moving idly around the enclosure until approached, whereupon it will immediately reveal its true form and begin the battle against it. The Plasm Wraith will also periodically revert to this form as the fight wears on. As it is the Plasm Wraith's alternate form, there are no notes for it specifically.
The Plasm Goolix is a pair of large, conjoined yellow blobs of translucent fluid. One blob is larger than the other and contains the Plasm Wraith's core. The Plasm Wraith, in this form, can also become opaque, which kills any Pikmin trapped inside of itself with no chance of saving them.
As this form of the Plasm Wraith is invulnerable and can only be stunned, a wise choice of action would be to flee from it until the creature becomes vulnerable again.
